Voyeur (Philly’s New Dance Nightclub): A fascinated observer of sordid and scandalous events;

Follow me on Twitter @iPhillyChitChat for updates on what’s going on in Philadelphia, 10 – 12 times a day.

Introducing luxury nightlife with a bit of spice, Voyeur is the new Philadelphia nightclub where you become the show!

In the heart of Midtown Village, an enclave for the city’s hottest restaurants and shopping experiences, Voyeur Nightclub is the area’s new secret indulgence. 12,000 square feet of modern meets antique, a first floor modeled after a Las Vegas show lounge; The main floor features this huge dance floor.

Luxurious banquette seating along the wall to catch all the action on the dance floor. (This section was still incomplete, but they were nice enough to let me shoot it anyway)
Well stocked bars with your favorite drinks. Although there is a low yearly membership, something below $25, probably to allow smoking in the club (I’m not excited about that, wish there were designated areas for that), anyway, the drinks run average at $5 – $12.
The centerpiece includes an immersive visual experience of images, designed by Philadelphia’s own Ricardo Rivera of Klip Collective and displayed on a centerpiece structure in the middle of the main dance floor; and a view of it all from any part of the club.
A back bar with secret stairway leading to the 2nd floor. There is a more public staircase off the main dance floorThe brainchild of brothers Michael and Billy Weiss of Bump and Woody’s fame, with the overall design concept belonging to Billy, the purpose of Voyeur Nightclub is to bring to Philadelphia what people often leave to the city to do: have grand experiences and be a part of the star-quality that other big cities possess.
Club owners Michael and Billy Weiss, who also own Woody’s, at 13th and Walnut, have been involved in Transit and a number of other clubs. The new club will be marketed for gay and straight clientele. – This is the 2nd floor dance room which will feature more rap than anything else. (I kinda wish it was an 80’s room)
Voyeur boasts 2 VIP lounges comfortably seating 60 of your closest friends, with readily available bottle service;
Each of the VIP rooms look down onto the dance floor and the lighted center piece.
The VIP tables are reserved but the balconies are open to anyone.
Also on the 2nd floor, at any given time this case may be opened and
a sweet young lady may take her place on the perch and swing.
On the lowest level of the club is the sub-club housing another generous bar,

Also in the sub-lounge there is a stage for cabaret performances, karaoke and Quizzo. All in all Voyeur houses a plethora of exciting activities for the Voyeur or Exhibitionist to enjoy. I’m excited to have another awesome dance club to choose from in the very active Philadelphia nightlife excitement. Still need to get down to my friend Meesha’s Recess to check out the dance night club that opened on 2nd Street.

Voyeur Nightclub, located at 1221 St. James Street (between Locust St. and Walnut St., and 12th and 13th Sts.), will open its doors on Friday, September 25, with a grand opening event from 11:00pm-3:30am. All fantasies will become reality. And you never know who’s watching…UPDATE: PARTY WITH THE BLACK EYED PEAS

GREATER PHILADELPHIA FILM OFFICE ANNUAL PARTY 2009 – Union Trust Restaurant

Today we have two important entries, so after the GPFO entry, keep scrolling down for the Phila Film Festival Party & Info on Tickets. Thanks)

PENNSYLVANIA’S FILM TAX CREDIT IS THREATENED
AND SO ARE YOUR JOBS
AND YOUR BUSINESSES

Joan Bressler, Director of GPFO & Sharon Pinkenson, Executive Director of GPFO

SIMPLE FACTS:

– PA’S ELECTED OFFICIALS ARE PLANNING TO CUT THE $75M A YEAR PROGRAM TO $49M

– EVERY DOLLAR OF THE $49M IS ALREADY SPENT ON SHOWS EITHER COMPLETED OR SHOOTING NOW IN PA

– A $49M FILM TAX CREDIT IN THIS BUDGET MEANS NO NEW FILMMAKERS WILL CHOOSE PA BETWEEN NOW AND THE 2011 BUDGET

– AND THERE WILL BE NO NEW WORK

– PA WILL HAVE TO PAY YOU, YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS, YOUR NEIGHBORS UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS AND ALL PENNSYLVANIANS WILL SUFFER
An Artistic Group: Sophie Steur and Gary Steuer, director of Philadelphia’s Office of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Diane Dalto, Chairperson of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Richard Woosnam, Alan Greenberger and Greta Greenberger. Alan was Director of Philadelphia City Planner, but is now Acting Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development. Greta is a former art teacher, current Director of the City Hall Tours.
Erica Atwood, Deputy City Rep and James Claiborne. I was glad to run into Erica as I’ve been getting a lot of hits on PCC asking when is the Philadelphia Christmas Tree going to be lit, I guess a lot of peeps are making their plans early, they probably did their shopping already too; The City Hall Tree lighting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2nd.
Jimmy Contreras, Vera Masi, and Matthew Vlahos. Look for something big in the media for Matt & Jimmy. Erin Elmore & Nina Tinari. Erin is newly single and I will be vetting her dating card. Send inquiries to me. Nina Tinari is entirely too busy lobbying in Harrisburg for many of the good causes in our City not to be forgotten in the state budget.

TAKE ACTION NOW; Fight For The Pa Film Tax Credit! 1. EMAIL YOUR GOVERNOR AND YOUR PA LEGISLATORS WITH THE FOLLOWING LINK Click here to send the following email to all of the legislators that need to hear from you. Please write your message or copy and paste the text below into the body of your email. Dear Elected Officials: I LIVE AND WORK IN PA AND MY FAMILY’S (AND OR MY FRIENDS’/NEIGHBORS’) LIVELIHOOD DEPENDS ON THE FILM INDUSTRY. A CUT IN THE FILM TAX CREDIT TO $49 MILLION OR LESS MEANS THAT I WILL BE COLLECTING UNEMPLOYMENT IN PA INSTEAD OF PAYING TAXES. A PA FINANCED STUDY OF THE FILM TAX CREDITS SAID THAT OUR PROGRAM CREATED 4,000 NEW JOBS IN ONE YEAR. AN ANNUAL UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFIT COSTS PA $14,500 PER PERSON. IF ONLY 2,000 OF US LOSE OUR JOBS OVER THE CUT TO THE TAX CREDITS, PA WILL HAVE TO PAY OUT $29 MILLION IN UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS. AND THE TAXES WE PAY TO THE STATE WILL BE FURTHER REDUCED. PLEASE, STIMULATE JOBS WITH THE $75 MILLION TAX CREDIT NOW. RESPECTFULLY, ____________ 2. CALL YOUR GOVERNOR AND YOUR PA LEGISLATORS AND TELL THEM TO FULLY FUND THE FILM TAX CREDIT

Governor Edward G. Rendell’s Office
Phone: (717) 787-2500 Inga and Sal D’Angelo with Erin Elmore. Jack Nicholson often ordered take out from D’Angelo’s restaurant and had it delivered to him at his hotel around the corner.
Thanks to the sponsors. The AKA has been home to a lot of the stars that have stayed in our fair City of late. OH and if you are that certain someone who keeps lifting ideas from my blog & using them, I wouldn’t mind a little credit, a little promo, a shout out, or something. It’s become kinda funny when the folks come back to me to say you’ve called them right after I posted the tidbit on my blog (They’re excited that you’ve called, but also wonder why there’s no credit or mention of me two diff folks asked this week. [If you need a reference check out Michael Klein’s column yesterday where he mentions the see thru Boyd’s floor I broke on my blog, or Dan Gross’ column a few weeks back where he mentions I broke the Renee/Bradley Starbucks visit])
Nicole Ross, Gar Giles (Congrats to Nicole & Gar who just got married!!!), Shane Mayo, Nakia Mayo & Marcus von Hippinstal.
Kristie Bergey & Danille Alderman. Kristie is hard at work on the Philadelphia fashion Week which begins 10/8 which is going to be awesome. I will be there Thursday & Saturday nights!!
Erin Elmore and Susan Helfrich (Can you tell who I brought as my date to the GPFO party)

Thanks to the sponsors. Last month the Reese Witherspoon/PaulRudd/Owen Wilson just filmed a scene inside Union Trust for the James L Brooks movie.

Peregrine Falcon Staying at the Ritz-Carlton in Center City

Hey I don’t want to be a downer, but after I left the Utley’s SPCA event at Boyd’s and before I went to the Philly Mag Cocktail Party then the Q Kitchen (Formerly Bump), I received some bad news about my sister Judy. Her Ovarian Cancer has spread throughout her liver (they still have the next phase of treatment for her, so there’s still hope for something, I hope). So I was no longer in the party mood. Sorry I didn’t attend those functions, and sorry this is an abbreviated entry. I do have two entries for Friday, just not the ones I had planned. I don’t do them ahead of time, I really do each one every day.

No need for emails or comments, I know your thoughts and prayers are with my family.

Peregrine Falcon hanging out on the 24th floor of the Ritz-Carlton across from where I work as a paralegal.
Hmm maybe the Ritz-Carlton should have that cracked checked?

REESE WITHERSPOON & PAUL RUDD MOVIE FILMING IN PHILADELPHIA September & October

Getting a lot of emails and hits on the blog for what was filming last night on the BF Parkway in Philadelphia. Thanks to a tipster that reads my PCC she tipped me off Monday night that they were setting up a filming for Tuesday night. She thought it was just Paul Rudd but lucky me it was Reese Witherspoon too, filming the James L Brooks Untitled movie which used to be called “How do You Know?” (Which I love) (I had to lay on my stomach in the road to get this shot)
It was a reshoot for a scene that was originally filmed in Washington DC. The link to those pictures will be at the end of this entry.
Many of you know that Reese Witherspoon was a slippery one. No matter how I tried I could not get a photo of her. Of course my problem is I always was asking her for a shot. This time I didn’t feel the need too as she was across the parkway. Sony pictures were great and didn’t harass me allowing me to cross this off my bucket list. Filming went late into the night and I caught this shot of Reese yawning. Unfortunately her bodyguard saw me and moved just slight to his left to block the shot, otherwise it would have been more adorable.if you go to Michael Klein’s site you can see a few more of my better photos.
This photo was picked up by glamour.com (another shot from lying on my stomach)
Ok she’s adorable, I’m in love with her again. Although I will say she didn’t acknowledge the fans across the street that waved and told her how much she loved them. I guess her Hallmark Card comes across the screen.
I hear that Owen Wilson will be coming October 7 to do a few re-shoots. Also filming is now scheduled to go on until November. Maybe I’ll get another Reese Witherspoon shot, but I won’t be trying as hard this time.
Here are the shots from DC of Reese Witherspoon & Paul Rudd http://www.haveuheard.net/reese-witherspoon-and-paul-rudd-on-movie-set-photos-reese-witherspoon-photos/

Two Radio City Rockettes lead Philadelphians in an attempt to form Philadelphia’s Largest Kickline on the Art Museum steps

Every year fans of the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Show flock to the Big Apple to catch this 75 year old tradition. This year Philadelphia is in luck as the Rockettes will give two performances at the Wachovia Center on Wednesday, December 2. To promote the upcoming show two of the Rockettes made the trip to Philly and kicked off the promotion at one of Philly’s most popular tourist site the Rocky Steps.
The Rockettes plans included an attempt to form Philadelphia’s Largest Kickline on the Art Museum steps. They brought props, I now have a hat for the holiday season. I probably should have grabbed that scarf too, it would be perfect for my caroling this year.
Unfortunately, they didn’t bring a battery powered radio to play the Rockettes theme. The folks on hand only had a gas powered one, and well it seemed to be out of gas. BUT that didn’t matter because the Rockettes are professionals and the show must go on….

so they hummed it
and took the participants thru the drill
successfully breaking the Philadelphia record for “Largest Kickline on the Art Museum steps” with about 30 people.
You don’t have to go to NYC to see the Radio City Rockettes, just jump in your car, take the Broad Street line down to the Wachovia and start a new tradition. Tickets to The Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the Rockettes are available via www.ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, Wachovia Complex Box Office, or select ACME locations.

A nice crowd turned out. One problem noted, it was hard to get the crowd to move beyond the bar area. Next time I would suggest setting a buffet in the adjoining room to spread the people out. It’s nice to have butlered hor dourves, but it’s better to have a room to move. Plus the other room had tables and a beautiful set up as the wine storage.

Susan Shapiro & Patricia Marx will be at Borders on Wed 9/30 6PM

Saw this sign on my way to Atlantic City after the Walk on Saturday. It was on Rt 9 near Asbury Park. Avon-By-The-Sea has big belly trashcans too

I walked home in the rain after the Nicky Hilton event ’cause I was too cheap to take a cab 5 blocks (if it were 6 blocks I would have). Then Sunday & Monday I was sick for the first time in over a year. BummerThe Gourmet Dog Foodie opening on the 1800 block of Chestnut
Is beautiful inside
It’ll be somewhat self serveand gift boxes

I went to XIX at the Park Hyatt for lunch the other day. First of all the ambiance is awesome, the history of the room is awe inspiring, my company was great, Anna Iredale PR for the Bellevue and the lunch delicious. They have a $20 lunch which includes salad bar, relish bar and desserts. Plus one entry. My entree was steak, but the salad was great. I probably would just have been happy with that as the dressing was some ancient secret.
200 S Broad St Philadelphia, PA 19102-3803 (215) 893-7892Back in March 2009 I wrote that I had heard that The Ritz-Carlton would be having outdoor dining, which they began in May; they would be getting new signage for 10Arts, which they just installed

and they would get awnings with their name on it. I guess they worked everything out with the zoning folks cause all three are now adorning the building at 10 Ave of the Arts
Another one of those new road imprints that Brian Howard of The Philadelphia City paper was writing about last week.
Another chance to see why the excesses of life are bad for you
It wasn’t a sweet ending, the other day I went here and got a yogurt. The bill was $5.03 I should have taken the darn blueberry off, but I guess the $.03 adds up so I had to break a $10. Maybe she thought she would get the $.97 for a tip since it’s self serve. Just had to get that off my chest.

Yesterday’s rainbow from my balcony.
