Good Philly Gossip Monday. Hope you had a great weekend despite this horrible weather. Congrats to so many Philadelphian’s that ran and conquered the Broad Street Run.

I was chatting a lot about Will Smith being in town last week; He was checking out the Residences at Ritz Carlton on Monday with realtors, while staying at the Ritz hotel next door. He used the Residences at Ritz Carlton gym everyday, seemed to enjoy the 2PM workout time. Friday he ran into Bad Boy co-star Martin Lawrence who was in town to perform at Temple that evening. No word on what they discussed, but my friend who reads lips said it seemed they were chatting about a Bad Boy sequel. I bet he was telling Martin that Philly will be seeing more of him, and hopefully Jada Smith, as they are now the majority owners of the Sixers.

Friday was a very special day for the Good Day Philadelphia Crew as they celebrated their 20 years on air with their loyal fans. Everyone turned up, chatted with viewers and posed for countless selfies.

Before the event though Mike Jerrick headed to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where they had a prom for the kids. So sweet. Then he headed to the party at Sugarhouse.

After the 20th Anniversary Party, my friend Alex Holley, FOX 29 co-host of “Good Day Philadelphia,” was honored Friday night at the 7th annual 2016 NV Movers & Shakers Soiree in NYC. Love her.

I was so busy this weekend – Thursday I was at the Fairmount Conservacy Gala, Friday night I attended the premiere of Inis Nua Theater’s The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning, (April 27-May 15) Saturday I was at Cure Duchenne Blingo at The Logan Hotel and Sunday I had a delicious brunch at Little Lion with Kory Aversa and Brooke Thomas, the new morning anchor at CBS3. Then headed to Savino Thorne’s baptism.

Noontime Nuggets: Tidbits, Celeb Sightings, Wedding, A baby, Charles Barkley, Brian Sims, Lea Delaria & Burt Renolds Naked

Another in a series of interesting news and tidbits from around town. OMG the search for a title for this column has changed names as many times as Murphy Brown’s secretary. Now that ages me I think. Anyway it looks like WMGK has retired using this title, and it doesn’t seem trademarked as I looked it up. What are your thoughts on it? Leave me a note on FB or Twitter cause I decided not to accept comments anymore. Nobody could figure out the sign up process and I really need to moderate the comments so I just disabled it. OK here are some Noontime Nuggets.

Amazing to see how Kyle’s dream of chatting about sports “around the water color” has blown up into a credible sports/news outlet ie crossingbroad.com . Secret to his success, he stayed independent. It gives you so much more leeway in conversation. I remember when he started, he was still employed, like I was, and today he supports his passion via his blog and all that goes along with that brand. A year ago he got married, and now he’s gonna be a dad. Congrats to Kyle and Dana (who I’ve met a couple times.)

Sylvester Stallone Runs Through Philadelphia – Creed Casting – Celebrity Sighting Tips

Sylvester Stallone Runs Through Philadelphia – The Actor is in town to Start Filming Creed, which starts filming next Monday 1/26/15. Last week he was at DIVE in Society Hill doing test shots for the upcoming follow up to the Rocky movie series. DIVE is the Visual Effects and Picture Finishing division of Shooters Inc., a national leader in commercial production, postproduction and broadcast design.

Saturday night Sly stopped by D’Angelo’s for dinner at 256 South 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. Several fans recognized him but he asked if they could wait til after dinner, at which time he posed with them outside the delicious Italian restaurant located in Rittenhouse Square. This photo will be added to the fame wall which already includes Robert DeNiro and Tommy Lasorda. You’ll recall that this was also a favorite dining place for Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus.

Creed is a story that finds Rocky Balboa acting as a trainer and mentor to the grandson of his fellow boxing alumni, Apollo Creed. But before we get into where else Sly went let me tell you who else is in this film so you can be on the look out for these celebs walking around town.

Remember this guy from Ghost, he’s also one of the most prolific character actors in the biz. Did you know he was in Carlito’s Way and Boogie Nights. So be on the lookout for Luis Guzmán and tweet me your selfies to @IPhillyChitChat and I’ll print them here.

Sexy Tessa Thompson has been in a lot of our favorite TV shows like: Copper, Veronica Mars and Heroes.

Will Blagrove’s star has been on the rise for awhile now, but with Creed and the upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” with Ben Affleck, which will blow his career up.

Michael B. Jordan or as Alex Holley likes to call him, her next husband. Jordan was in town in December doing his test shots at DIVE during that time. When he was here he could be found at Fox & The Hound. I hear he was really nice and posed with fans. He appeared on All My Children in 2006, overlapping in scenes with Will Blagrove, so look for them to hang out a bit. Jordon just finished shooting “The Fantastic Four” and has already been tapped for the followup sequel, so now is the time to see him up close and personal as his star is headed for the stratosphere, and in “Creed” he’s in the starring role as “Adonis Creed.”

Speaking of stratosphere, Mrs. Huxtable Phylicia Rashad has just been added to the cast as Adonis Creed’s mom Mary Anne Creed. The chances of seeing her are slim as the last time she was in town filming the TV series “Do No Harm” for a whole season, she was low key. She did get her nails done at the same Sansom Street salon every week, and occasional grabbed a bite at a.kitchen, but otherwise there were very little sightings. Hopefully that changes this time.

After leaving D’Angelo’s on Saturday night, Sly and his friends headed to the 1925 Cocktail Lounge(formerly G Lounge).

He and his friends hung out in the vault, which you will recall was christened by Meek Mills and Nicki Minaj last week.

The Italian Stallion is 68 years old.

Friday night he had dinner as Estia at Broad and Locust and posed with the banquet coordinator and manager. (A man after my own heart, a guy who likes to wear black, two nights in a row.)

The best photo has to be the one that showed up on Reddit.

The photo has over 1.5 million views since it was posted on Sunday. WOW. Rocky lives , he’s our hometown hero. I hope you get a chance to get a selfie with him.

On Saturday, reporter Michael Boren spotted NYC Mayor Deblasio in the Italian Market:

I’m 100% sure that former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani was at the Italian Market today,as he stopped by Geno’s to grab a wit, with.

Also in town this weekend:

Mario Lopez appeared on QVC Sunday, but the night before he was at Ocean Prime for dinner. Seems he enjoyed his Baked Alaska dessert. Yes that is the normal size of that serving. Mario stayed at the Four Seasons while he was in town.

Dancing with the Stars Louis van Amstel stopped by the trade shoe LA Blast Fitness which was at the Marriott as well as the Pennsylvania Convention Center. He was super nice, and posed with fans.

There was a big wedding in Philly on Saturday, as Jamie Gayle Shupak and Brian Patrick Stelter were married Saturday evening at the Sheraton Society Hill in Philadelphia.

Stelter, 32, is the morning traffic anchor in New York for NY1, a cable
news channel. She graduated from the University of Maryland. The bride is the daughter of Helen R. Shupak and Neil L. Shupak of Philadelphia. Mr.
Stelter, 28, is the senior news media correspondent for CNN, based in
New York. He is also the host of “Reliable Sources,” a Sunday morning
program on that network. Until November, he was a staff reporter at The
New York Times covering media news. I follow them both on Social Media and they seem to have the pulse of the millennials. Although Reliable Sources is taped on Friday to play on Sunday, Brian wore his wedding ring to be factually correct by the time it aired Sunday morning.

This morning Disney star/singer Selena Gomez stopped by Center City KMart to promote her new clothing line “Dream Out Loud”Folks starting lining up as early as 9PM the night before for the 11AM meet and greet.

Like Nikki Bagonis, Zoe Protin and dad Del Protin from North Jersey. (They enjoyed natures light show Thursday night)

How cute Julia and Alexis Hagan with friend Lauren Carpenter. The girls stayed up all night making these cute shirts. Dad Christopher Hagan was happy to wake up early and bring the girls down by 5AM

She was sweet. A little shocked that we knew that she was at Vetri for dinner last night. I thought it was a good idea I don’t mention I knew what movie they went too too. It’s adorable.)Here’s my coverage on PhillyMag about last night.Then a reader text me to say that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were spotted near Rittenhouse Square around 18th Street. I had been at lunch at Rogues Gallery with a friend I hadn’t seen in about 3 years, we parted and I darted to the Square area. People around 18th & Chestnut were in a dither and I realized that the twosome must have passed by recently. I asked people and they pointed me in the direction. I got to the Shops at Liberty Place and asked some guy who was calling someone and had a big smile on his face, he said they went inside. WOW really. OK off I went. Girls were freaking out on the escalator they said he had just gotten off. They ran down then ran up behind me shrieking. I spotted them and said to the girls stop screaming you’re going to scare them. Are you a paparazzi they said, we want your picture. Later, then we spotted them as they were at Smoothie King ordering.

At first Selena, 19, and Justin, 17, were not very welcoming as they ordered at Smoothie King on the 2nd level. By this time a large crowd had arrived. I wish I had taken the shot of the crowd but I was a little worried for them and kept talking to them. Justin wanted me to just shoot Selena alone because he told me this is her big day. She’s promoting her new clothing line and has a concert tonight. I said I know I photographed her this morning, and I would make sure that my readers knew that she was in town to promote both of those events. (I did take a few shots of her alone at the Smoothie place, but did not put them here. In fact I also held back a few other great shots for my agency.) I actually asked them if they needed help with leaving. Justin said he goes here all the time and never had a problem before. (maybe that was before he had 12 million followers on Twitter and almost every tween has an account and phone.)

Finally I said to them let me get one of the security guards, you will not be able to leave safely with the 100 or so fans screaming your name and chasing youse. Finally a Shops at Liberty Place security guard did walk them back to their hotel, which they appreciated. The guard told me that when they walked through Rittenhouse Square it was mobbed with lots of tweens and peeps taking cell phone photos. Justin was wondering where how all the people knew they were there. (They probably thought I called them or something. Earlier he gave me a few good shots and asked if I would stop following them as maybe it wouldn’t draw such attention to him. I complied, but Justin you have 12 million twitter followers, I’m not the one drawing attention to you baby baby.) (See the huge crowd on the escalator)

BTW He ordered the Strawberry Hulk LARGE and it was $9.35 cause I had to have one. The Biebs is influential. When I left I tweeted my sighting, and a few fun things. Not fun: The two superstars arrived without any bodyguards, which is crazy and naive.
