Happy Preakness Weekend. It was so great to attend the Radnor Hunt Races yesterday, an event I have attended for the past 12 years. This year was special, as has everything in the pandemic, crowds were kept down, there were no big sponsor tents and no one was allowed to cross the track, although a few people were able to connect with family members on either side. They did a great job, and raised more funds for Open Spaces, who’s mission raises fund for the Brandywine Conservancy protects and conserves the land, water, natural, and cultural resources of the Brandywine-Christina watershed. Head to CBSPhilly for more shots.
Speaking of Radnor, RHONJ Teresa Guidice enjoyed dinner with friends and her man Luis “Louie” Ruelas atEstia Taverna in Radnor, Pa. Saturday night. No tables were flipped, but I hear they were as nice as can be, and they enjoyed a lot of the highlights of the menu which keeps me going back for more.
A few weeks ago I attended a derby party co-hosted by Nate Rogers, who is the Spirits Marketing Manager for Makers Mark. He’s on Fox 29 Monday at 8:30am chitchatting about the best BBQ Cocktails for MAY, National BBQ Month.
Last month Basketball Wives’ Reality Star CeCe Scott (wife of LA Laker Legend Byron Scott) showcased her post-Pandemic looks, “Fashion Meets Protection,” including one-of-a-kind jumpsuits, bedazzled masks, and face shields as top models strut the catwalk in one of the first celebrity fashion events in the New York. The show was followed by an elite listening event showcasing the latest creations of Philadelphia internationally known hip-hop artist Warchyld, hosted by DJ Envy of Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club”.
Fashionistas need to look no further than the latest pop-up shop to open in Suburban Square, ShopSixtyFive, which will host its grand opening event Saturday, May 22, 2021, 10a – 6 pm. The event will include small bites from the new Lola’s Garden, located next door.
ShopSixtyFive is the brainchild of former New York stylist, Linda LaRosa. LaRosa is a regular fashion contributor on many local news programs, including Fox’s Good Day Philadelphia and 6ABC’s FYI Philly.

I do love so much about the New Hope area, especially in the fall. Did you know that Zac Posen’s family has a farm nearby as well. He goes there nearly every weekend. Another hot happening in New Hope is the Bucks County Playhouse. Last year we attended their gala hosted by actress and board member Marilu Henner who brought along her friend Tony Danza who performed a song and dance for the evening. This weekend they’ve pivoted to an online variety show show which looks terrific.
“Playhouse Live!,” the 30-minute, free Virtual Variety show produced by Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, PA, streams again this Sunday night, September 20 at 7 p.m. with an all-new program and added musical performances.
Hosted by the Playhouse’s trio of Tony-award winning producers (Producing Director Alexander Fraser, Executive Producer Robyn Goodman and Producer Josh Fiedler), this week’s installment will be co-hosted by television, stage and film actress, Didi Conn (“Grease!”).
Highlights of this week’s show include an interview with Conn about her experiences filming the blockbuster musical “Grease!” Tony-winning actress, Linda Lavin, will introduce you to her latest character, internet sensation Yvette Slosch. “Frozen’s” Mason Reeves and Playhouse favorite Sky Seals (“Million Dollar Quartet”) will provide musical performances. Richard Riaz Yoder (“Hello, Dolly!” on Broadway and the Playhouse’s “Ain’t Misbehavin”) will tap to Fats Waller’s “Honeysuckle Rose.”
“Playhouse Live!” is line-produced by Jeremy Ehlinger and Michael Traupman and made possible with support from the Playhouse Annual Fund and Re-opening Campaign donors. The Playhouse is especially grateful to season support from Bank of America. Please check the website for upcoming dates and the Virtual show at BucksCountyPlayhouse.org; on Facebook @BCPTheater; on YouTube @BCPTheaterinfo.
Speaking of Grease !! Enjoy a modern take the classic movie (OMG classic I remember when it came out, my parents wouldn’t let us go see it because of a word in one of the songs, anyway) at Willow Grove Park’s, “Park and Play: Dinner and a Movie,” event. Engage in a night of family friendly fun, featuring food and drinks from Cheesecake Factory, Yard House, TGI Friday’s, Kamp for Kids, Cheesesteak Champs and Royal Zarasa; Music by Curran Entertainment; and a main feature that viewers of all ages will love – Grease! The $20 per vehicle ticketed event is sure to sell out, Saturday, September 19th – Parking lot opens at 6pm (The drive-in will be located in Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s parking lot (Easton Road side), movie begins at 8pm reserve your spot today: eventbrite.com/e/park-and-play-grease-tickets.
Speaking of animals, local animal rescue group, Philadoptables, has released their 8th edition of the Hunks for Hounds charity calendar. All models posed with rescued pets from the Philadelphia metro area. All proceeds from the calendar help Philadoptables support Philly area animal rescues, especially the city’s open intake animal shelter, ACCT Philly. The calendar is produced at no cost to Philadoptables because everyone from the photographer, videographer, models, graphic artists and printers donates their time and services. This year’s photographer, Alison of Alison Dunlap Photography, donated her services and is also an animal rescue volunteer. This year’s notable models include Jaxon- radio personality on 93.3 WMMR radio, Libre- puppy mill survivor and anti-cruelty mascot, and Suzy Pupman- local injured senior dog who walked into a home with an open door in the middle of the night. The shoot location, Thistle Dew Farm in Quakertown, offered their space at no cost to Philadoptables. Calendars are available for purchase at Philadoptables.org

It was good to see the Rocky Statue get a little love last week. Normally on any given day before the pandemic there’d be a long line to see the most famous movie prop in Philly, but for the past few months barely a raised fist. Best news, everyone was wearing a mask and nearly social distancing. Hope to see you around town this weekend, if not on Social Media. Kate Winslet has arrived in Philadelphia for a new HBO series “Mare of Easttown”, which films until APRIL. The show will be mostly shot in Delco, in eerie quaint towns my sources tell me. Mare is directed by UofP graduate (This morning I was at an event and one of his friends told me his connection to Philly and this is what I found): Gavin O’Connor who once held the career sacks record at the University of Pennsylvania (The Philly Voice). Mare Of Easttown stars Winslet as a small-town Pennsylvania detective whose life crumbles around her as she investigates a local murder. The cast also includes Julianne Nicholson, Jean Smart, Angourie Rice, Evan Peters, Cailee Spaeny and David Denman. Additional cast-mates have been added (Info). Robert Deniro‘s film with Shia Labeouf scheduled to start in November, now scheduled to start in January. Brrr. But actually much better for me, social season is slow then.
The last photo in this set is from the scene I mentioned on Fox 29 on Tuesday, where Octavia played by Richard E. Grant, center photo, jumps in a waiting limo and Andre3000 character jumps into the trunk. For some reason they filmed it out of sequence. I had a chance to see the Call Sheet and it is the same scene as they were trying to match up the protestors to mimic the earlier shoot.
I was on Fox 29 earlier this week chitchatting about the film. It was interesting the scene they shot with Richard E. Grant will be spliced together with a scene they filmed over the summer with Field, and Andre 300. I remember watching that one as well.
The weather is looking gold for two meteorologists we know…
White Dog Cafe wants to prepare your Thanksgiving Meal. INFO Thanks and have a fantastic, safe weekend….
WOW I have never had so many celebrity sightings, gotten so many celebrity shots and had so much fun sharing the info with you. THANK YOU THANK YOU readers for your tips. I can’t do this without you, and I appreciate your trust. I am always happy to give you credit, or respect your anonymity. I’m happy to retweet you, especially if your a person who wants to be anonymous but wants a little social media love, I’m happy to pay that forward. This is a labor of love for me, and I love sharing your stories with our neighbors. Thank you again so much for all the tips, stories and sightings. I’m a little behind as September snuck up on me…
The Netflik’s Queer Eye show has wrapped. Last week they held a wrap party on the rooftop of the National Apartments, with it’s sweet view of Penns Landing. B R Y N + D A N E ‘ S catering provided food for the cast party. Although none of the cast members stayed at the National, they did use their gym everyday Level 1 Fitness when they weren’t using the gym at The Bridge, where the cast did stay. I would get daily emails, where is the cast staying, how can I meet the Queer Eye guys. I’d think to myself don’t they see the big blue bridge in so many of their workout videos? I make it a point not to tell fans where people are staying, while they’re staying there. The Bridge is also where Michael B Jordan stayed when he was in town filming Creed 2.
What’s Bill Pullman doing in Philly I thought when Elizabeth Claire sent me this photo. I did some research and found out his wife Tamara Pullman’s brother lives here furniture designer Michael Hurwitz He has a studio at 16 South 3rd Street .
I”ll never get over the thrill of being inPhiladelphia Inquirer I’ve read it since the time I could read, and it’s one of the first professional outlets I got published my work published in ~ a photo of Barry Manilow leaving Ralph’s Restaurant in2007. You must subscribe to the Inky, it’s our home town newspaper. I do describe, I just hadn’t signed in here. Read the Story of This Is Us filming in Philly. BTW they filmed from Sunday until Wednesday. I walked by the Sofitel where they were housed and the “extras” vans were stationed to pick them up and take them to a scene. Social Season has started and I didn’t have time to find out where it was. Keep me informed, I might not have time to shoot them but I will get the scoop for us.
I never did find out why Jessica Alba was here, but someone did see her on Walnut Street shopping on Wednesday as well. No doubt for research on her beauty blog. And someone did go on record saying they waited on her, in the comments. Now that’s a lot of celebrities in Philly for one week.
I’m so glad my Idris Elba on a horse filming Concrete Cowboys photo was published last week, cause the John Travolta “The Fanatic” media blitz on nearly every outlet was the real deal today. Danny Zuko was everywhere, so much so that he was trending in Philly for his appearances as much as nationally for his appearance on Jimmy Fallon last night. Travolta flew his own plane into Philly last night around 8PM, and headed to the new Four Season’s Hotel where he was spotted at JG SkyHigh, (I have a photo sent to me anonymously on my instagram). Earlier in the evening he taped an appearance on the Jimmy Fallon show, in NYC.
Interesting enough, Jimmy Fallon was spotted at the Ritz Carlton where Questlove did a piece in the lobby during the day about his upcoming new book: Mixtape Potluck Cookbook, which comes out October 15. Questlove imagines the ultimate potluck dinner party, inviting more than fifty chefs, entertainers, and musicians—such as Eric Ripert, Natalie Portman, and Q-Tip—and asking them to bring along their favorite recipes. Interesting choice of places to conduct the interview as Eric Ripert used to have a restaurant in the Ritz Carlton called 10 Arts, the address of the hotel. Questlove was spotted posing with fans on the steps as he exited.
Earlier this week the Daily Mail put up a photo of Yolanda Hadid and her new boyfriend and wanted to know who he was. I recognize him as he’s local. It’s Joseph R. Jingoli, Jr. CEO of Joseph Jingoli & Son, Inc. more info @phillyvoice phillyvoice.com/fearless-leade… I just saw them together last spring at a Philly event phillychitchat.com/2019/02/27/res… – Yolanda Hadid steps out with mystery boyfriend in NYC mol.im/a/7354255 via @DailyMailCeleb He’s a farmer with a place near her’s. He’s a philanthropist. She has now confirmed it as well. They’ve been super low key, I saw them in March, but was asked not to write about it, and I didn’t until now. Also now that her ex David Foster, has gotten married, she probably wants people to know she’s happy as well.
After posting my breaking celebrity news the other day, someone sent me this photo of Lexie Norcross, owner & publisher of Philly Voice. (Here’s a great article on Jingoli) Lexie used to date Joe Jingoli. Thanks to my buddy Thom Carroll who took this photo of the happy couple at the Cooper Hospital Red Hot Gala, and best of luck to him in his new adventure. Also Sabrina Tamburino Thorne dropped me a note and vouched that Joey is a great guy. Happy to hear Yolanda Hadid has found love again.
Concrete Cowboys (formerly titled Ghetto Cowboy, based on the book) continues to film in North Philly, this time in the Strawberry Mansion area. Thanks to the anonymous photographer of these photos, she told me that a lot of the neighbors are extras on the set, and everyone is very nice. They’re happy the story is being told. On the left is Caleb McLaughlin , from Stranger Things, who’s be spotted around Philly and has signed autographs and has posed for photos. On the right is Jharrel Jerome . Concrete Cowboys has about 2 more weeks of filming left, and if being shot by a local company Neighborhood Film founded by Ricky Staub, who is also directing Concrete Cowboys.
Hello Friday, August is just zipping by; BTW if you’re reading this before 830AM I’m on WOGL for another sing a long today with Marilyn Russell, and my pick for event of the weekend – it’s a killer. That’s a hint. Here’s another edition of #PCCBuzz (yes I know I changed the day again; Friday is a good day for gossip cause you need fun chitchat for the weekend, dinner and the beach) Last week I went to the 2nd Street Festival, it was fun. It wasn’t a client event so I got to really take my time to look around, and guess what I found a very interesting story.
I saw this awning at The Schmidt’s Commons – DGX Philadelphia. Inside the space was still being built out. I check it out online to see what kind of business it was and it’s a subsidiary of Dollar Store General. According to a story in the Tennessean: Dollar General has a new demographic in mind with its smaller-format store concept DGX: millennials. .. There are similarities between a traditional Dollar General store and DGX, but the smaller-format store features a more modern design, a curated selection of goods and a brewed coffee station for metropolitan shoppers.
It’s very similar to a convenience store with chips, a fountain machine with a variety of sodas, grab and go sandwiches and many of items to serve city dwellers.
“We are excited about our new smaller store concept and the opportunity to serve busy, city-dwellers with everyday low prices on the essentials they need in a convenient, easy-to-shop format,” Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s CEO, said in a statement. “The DGX format is geared to meet the needs of the millennial shopper, which is an emerging and important part of our customer base and will help us broaden our appeal to attract a new segment of urban customers who put a high premium on value and convenience.” (source) I asked around last Sunday and nearby neighbors told me at the end of August.
Yesterday I was walking up Chestnut street and saw that Campers Shoes (1734 Chestnut St) had closed and in it’s place was this store window full of an explosion of fantastical colors but what did it mean. I did some research, and it turns out that it’s a new campaign connected with the launch of M∙A∙C Cosmetics stores opening around the world. The Chestnut Street store is opening in the Fall of 2017,
and for what I’ve seen on the internet the store openings are a lot of fun. I can’t wait to shoot it. How awesome that M∙A∙C Cosmetics will have another stand a lone store in Rittenhouse
Speaking of Rittenhouse Square, Bruce Willis who was in town prepping for M Night Shyamalan’s movie “Glass” was spotted @ Barclay Prime for dinner arriving at 7PM and leaving at 9:30PM, b4 heading across the park to Scarpetta for nightcap last nite. He’ll be back in September along with the rest of the cast of Glass – James McAvoy, Samuel L.Jackson, and Anya Taylor-Joyalong with franchise newcomer Sarah Paulson. Samual Jackson said in an interview in Collier “We start rehearsal on [September] 18th and I start shooting on the 25th.”. They’ll be filming for 8 weeks, with many weeks of the shooting happening on the streets of Philadelphia, a bit in the studio and the rest outside of the City. Paparazzi HughE is ready. Filming is scheduled until Thanksgiving, with a movie release date of January 18, 2019. Heery Loftus Casting can help you become a star, or at least an extra on this movie. Glass is a direct sequel to Split and Unbreakable, bringing together the casts of both movieshelmed by Shyamalan.
Check out Gina Gannon tonight on 6ABC News during the crucial 4PM and 5PM newscasts.
Nina Tinari, Chairwoman of The Marian Anderson Award, announced today that five-time Grammy winner Dionne Warwick will receive the 2017 Marian Anderson Award on November 14, 2017, during the eagerly anticipated Gala and Concert at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
Yesterday I was on the set of Untouchable, which is filming in the Philadelphia area as well as NYC for the next 6 weeks. (source) The movie is based on The Intouchables an original French-language film which grossed $416 million overseas and $10 million domestic. It told the based-on-a-true-story take of an aristocrat (Francois Cluzet) who, after being injured, hires a young man (Omar Sy) from the wrong side of the tracks to be his caretaker.
Julianna Margulies arrived late in the afternoon. She’s not on the IMDB but I can tell you she plays a love interest of Bryan Cranston‘s named lily. Here’s she’s headed to make up and costumes to prepare for scenes that’ll be shot today. Poor Julianna I completely fanned out and told her how much I loved The Good Wife. She thanked me, and went on her way as I was enveloped in joy.
Afterwards she headed to the set to meet the actors. (Interesting flared, threaded jeans. Is this a new style?)
who were filming inside the Center for Architecture (Note that NYC cab. That’s Kevin Hart’s stand in in the puffy jacket.)
In between takes Kevin Hart would pose for photos with fans
As would Bryan Cranston. I had a chance to chat with both and they’re excited to be here in Philadelphia filming. I can’t believe Bryan is 60, he looks great.
Also new to the cast The Birth of a Nation actress Aja Naomi King has been cast in The Weinstein Company film Untouchable, joining Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston, Nicole Kidman, and Genevieve Angelson. Helmed by Neil Burger, the pic is a remake of the smash 2011 French film The Intouchables from Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache. (Deadline)
Aja Naomi King plays the mother of Kevin Hart’s son, played by Jahi Di’Allo Winston who recently was in the New Edition movie, but he’s not listed in the IMDB yet for this Untouchable.
Good Philly Gossip Monday. Hope you had a great weekend despite this horrible weather. Congrats to so many Philadelphian’s that ran and conquered the Broad Street Run.
Sheena Parveen and Mikey Ilagan at the Broad Street Run
It was exciting to see how many people in my timeline posted photos from the race, their medals, and bibs. Will Smith and super fan Kevin outside the Ritz last week.
I was chatting a lot about Will Smith being in town last week; He was checking out the Residences at Ritz Carlton on Monday with realtors, while staying at the Ritz hotel next door. He used the Residences at Ritz Carlton gym everyday, seemed to enjoy the 2PM workout time. Friday he ran into Bad Boy co-star Martin Lawrence who was in town to perform at Temple that evening. No word on what they discussed, but my friend who reads lips said it seemed they were chatting about a Bad Boy sequel. I bet he was telling Martin that Philly will be seeing more of him, and hopefully Jada Smith, as they are now the majority owners of the Sixers.
Martin Lawrence at Temple University
Yes it’s true #bcbgmaxazria closed on April 24 at 16th and Walnut. The sign on the door says visit them at their KOP or Cherry Hill Mall store.
It’s been fun following along with Kharisma MCllwaine and her brother Aloysius on their trip to Morocco via snapchat, which I’m trying to learn.
Seriously, if anyone was going to meet the new quarterback, Carson Wentz, first it was going to be Melissa Leonard. Here she is at the meet and greet press conference, as well as season owners of boxes.
Friday was a very special day for the Good Day Philadelphia Crew as they celebrated their 20 years on air with their loyal fans. Everyone turned up, chatted with viewers and posed for countless selfies.
Before the event though Mike Jerrick headed to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where they had a prom for the kids. So sweet. Then he headed to the party at Sugarhouse.
After the 20th Anniversary Party, my friend Alex Holley, FOX 29 co-host of “Good Day Philadelphia,” was honored Friday night at the 7th annual 2016 NV Movers & Shakers Soiree in NYC. Love her.
Then Saturday night Mike Jerrick headed to DC to attend the White House Correspondents Dinner.
I wonder if he ran into Mike’s cousin David Nakamura (Washington Post White House correspondent), here with his wife Kris Schenck
Good Friday afternoon, how about a little Philly Gossip. Hope you had a great weekend. So much going on. I’m getting my first wordpress lesson today so hopefully I can figure out how to put these instragram and social media photos in with links so you can go right to these pages. Otherwise if you see something you like just google their names and their social media will come up.
Celeb sightings I tweeted about this week. Seems Will Smith was in town. He was staying at the Ritz Carlton hotel but using the The Residences at the Ritz Carlton Gym. He was also spotted with a real estate agent at the Residences. Maybe that penthouse is finally going to be sold.
Former President Bill Clinton was seen strolling through the Sonesta Hotel’s lobby after he had spent Primary night there. My mom stayed there last weekend too. That hotel has gotten so hot since it’s been rebranded, and refreshed. In June look for Ruth Chris steakhouse to open. 50Cent was in town on Monday to sign bottles of his booze EFFEN at the state store in Northern Liberties. He must have spent the weekend here cause Saturday night he was spotted at Coda.
Monday night Chelsea Clinton was at Coda pimping for her mom Hillary Clinton (who stayed at the Sheraton Hotel the night before Primary Night), who was doing a MSNBC Town Hall Meeting at the Constitution Center (BTW that was taped. I guess it didn’t say so during the show. After I wrote my column on Bernie and his meltdown cause Hillary was still taping when he arrived for his segment, people were saying but Bernie was on stage first. I had noted that Clinton taped from 530 to 630pm, but was still on stage at 7PM, but I guess those readers didn’t realize that was 2 hrs before the show aired. )OK now that that’s cleared up, here’s what’s happening in the neighborhood.
Congrats City Rep Sheila Hess for your story being published in Philly Current Mag

Happy 50th Birthday Christopher Barlett, the unsung hero of Philly’s LGBTQ community service – The William Way Center. With him is Ernest Owens, Metro Philly columnist as well as GPhilly editor. He’s had quite a week himself as a shot of him at a Hillary Clinton rally appeared on NYTimes.com
Perusing Instagram I came across this very interesting photo by Tismfu of 17th and Walnut. You can tell he’s a visitor cause he called it Walnut and 17th, natives usually put the number first.
Congrats to Mark Marek and Dilara Deger on their wedding yesterday. Mark owns the popular Rumor nightclub (Say hi to Teefish at the door when you’re there) and the sexy, speakeasy lounge 1925 (formerly G Lounge).

Margaret Cho started following me on Twitter. She heard about my involvement with breaking the Gay Bashing story last year. She’s upset with the verdict and she wants to speak with the boys who were bashed. That was sweet. I put them in touch with each other. What happened was I saw a post on FB about the incident which happened to a friends friend. I put it on Twitter. I was immediately contacted by the media and I connected them to the people who could get them the info they needed.
Congrats to Scott Dougherty and Tom Doersam
