Lola’s Garden Blooms in Ardmore

Avram Hornik, FCM Hospitality, Philly’s prolific restaurateur behind Morgan’s Pier, Juno and Harper’s Garden held a preview dinner for his much anticipated Main Line eatery Lola’s Garden at Suburban Square on April 14, 2021, which opened the following day.
Opening in the red hot Ardmore restaurant scene, Lola’s will showcase the culinary skills of acclaimed former Russet Chef Andrew Wood. The seasonal menus will showcase uniquely paired, honest, local ingredients together with small bites, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts that showcase his culinary skills and artistry with a focus on not more than a handful of ingredients on the plate.  Ardmore’s newest restaurant boasts a 1,800-square-foot restaurant (with a 2,500-square-foot outdoor patio) for guests to enjoy. , At the bar, look for a celebration of all things Pennsylvania with 15 all local and state beers on tap, and an entire wine program with taps and bottles showcasing the states best selections.

The invitation for the Grand Opening Preview of Lola’s Garden in Ardmore stated dress for a garden party, no one took it more seriously than Michelle “The Hat Lady” Leonard. She was dressed head to toe in green, and carried the cutest water bucket as part of her whimsical outfit.

Philly Gossip: Will Smith, #bcbgmaxazria closed, Alex Holley Honored

Good Philly Gossip Monday. Hope you had a great weekend despite this horrible weather. Congrats to so many Philadelphian’s that ran and conquered the Broad Street Run.

It was exciting to see how many people in my timeline posted photos from the race, their medals, and bibs.Philly Gossip
Will Smith and super fan Kevin outside the Ritz last week.

I was chatting a lot about Will Smith being in town last week;  He was checking out the Residences at Ritz Carlton on Monday with realtors, while staying at the Ritz hotel next door. He used the Residences at Ritz Carlton gym everyday, seemed to enjoy the 2PM workout time.  Friday he ran into Bad Boy co-star Martin Lawrence who was in town to perform at Temple that evening. No word on what they discussed, but my friend who reads lips said it seemed they were chatting about a Bad Boy sequel.  I bet he was telling Martin that Philly will be seeing more of him, and hopefully Jada Smith, as they are now the majority owners of the Sixers.

Yes it’s true #bcbgmaxazria closed on April 24 at 16th and Walnut. The sign on the door says visit them at their KOP or Cherry Hill Mall store.

It’s been fun following along with Kharisma MCllwaine and her brother Aloysius on their trip to Morocco via snapchat, which I’m trying to learn.

Seriously, if anyone was going to meet the new quarterback, Carson Wentz, first it was going to be Melissa Leonard. Here she is at the meet and greet press conference, as well as season owners of boxes.

Friday was a very special day for the Good Day Philadelphia Crew as they celebrated their 20 years on air with their loyal fans. Everyone turned up, chatted with viewers and posed for countless selfies.

Before the event though Mike Jerrick headed to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where they had a prom for the kids. So sweet. Then he headed to the party at Sugarhouse.

After the 20th Anniversary Party, my friend Alex Holley, FOX 29 co-host of “Good Day Philadelphia,”  was honored Friday night at the 7th annual 2016 NV Movers & Shakers Soiree in NYC.  Love her.

Then Saturday night Mike Jerrick headed to DC to attend the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Welcome to the New & Improved Philly Chit Chat

For years I’ve resisted going modern with Philly Chit Chat, while embracing modern technology like cell phones that take pictures and video and go on the internet.  When I started PCC back in 2007, I think AOL was still dial up or something like that and although that was annoying and eventually changed with the times, I ignored all the readers and friends who would call my blog outdated and ugly. I said isn’t it about the content, the pretty pictures, the information, why does it have to change.  Anyway here I am thanks to Chatterblast approaching me, with one of their partners 2ONE5 who knocked some sense into me as my dad would say. With help from Ian M Crumm and my hubby Mike Toub, here we are today at City Tap House revealing the newly refreshed PhillyChitChat.  Bear or bare with me as I’ve never used WordPress, although I think I am the only one left in the world that hasn’t. I can’t wait to explore all the nuances. UPDATE FROM this point: I can see there is a bit of a learning curve, there’s little notes at the bottom saying I need more text to meet the minimum standard of 300 words, are we there yet? I was eager to get a post up so I didn’t wait for my 2one5 lesson, which I really should get one  from them as they’re the experts. Isn’t this site pretty, I’m so excited.

Chatterblast Crew at Flip Cup Tournament at Field House

That was a fun event, I wrote about it last week on PhillyChitChat but need to update the site so you can see it as it fell in that area after the cut off where I wasn’t supposed to add anything. Are we up to 300 words yet, usually I dont have these issues but today I am so excited to explore the site I am at a loss for words.

The 2one5 Team at Phlipadelphia

Thanks everyone, and thanks Tap House Logan, Janine and Christie Honigman for arranging the party. And you my friends and readers. And Danya Henninger, Billy Penn for that really nice article on my life and how I started blogging.

And Replica Creative and Joe Kolodi for creating my LOGO, and Wallsome for the cool wall coverings.

And everyone, sorry if I forgot to include you, feel free to send me an email or shout it out.

Ryan Lochte on Fox 29 News Anchors Shenielle Jones and Mike Jerrick Lose It After Bizarre Interview

I had heard rumblings about Olympian Ryan Lochte’s new reality show. It seems Ryan is desperate to become as famous as legendary Michael Phelps.

For what I’ve seen and hear, Lochte is dumber than a box of rocks, but pretty rocks. Today he appeared via satilite on Good Day and demonstrated what we’re in for. He’s like Anna Nicole Smith on testosterone. Check out my vine of today’s Good Day Philly with clips which foreshadow the future, and an always calm, cool and collected Shenielle Jones reacting to the interview and Mike Jerrick is as funny as ever.
(VOLUME Instructions: Put your cursor on the video and turn the volume on, it’s in the upper
left hand corner. Then move the cursor to remove the words.)

Vine is a 6 second stop and go video. It’s only available on IPhones and IPads, but can be watched on any device. I post them to Vine, FB and Twitter. (I bought a mini IPad just to get VINE. Go check out the site, so many awesome videos, clever and funny. Follow me: PhillyChitChat

Here’s the whole video
My favorite line “I’m a man at night, and a man in the morning.”

Check out a clip on TMZ

The story has taken off around the world.

Lochte’s reality show “What Would Ryan Lochte Do?” will premiere Sunday, April 21 at 10 P.M. EST on E!. It will follow the athlete as “he prepares for the Rio games
in 2016 while building his fashion line, making buzz-worthy media
appearances, dealing with his unconventional family and loyal friends
and, always, searching for ‘the one’.”

Hey are you following me on Instagram yet, of course these pixs also upload to FB and Twitter so you can see them there too. Here’s two of my most popular ones of late.

North Shore Beach Club is bringing Sexy Back To the Northern Liberties Neighborhood with the 2013 North Beach Club Bikini Team,

It’s still a members only club for 21++ but now it’s celebrating it’s “nightclub with a pool” self.

Remember when North Shore Beach Club first opened under the moniker Arrow Swim Club and they were going for that upscale VIP vibe? Well rest assure that’s over, and it’s just an upscale anyone who can afford $600 a summer membership club. What’s really great is they have a daytime membership price of $300, which is really awesome since night time is the right time for crazy shit fun like Dayload Parties, DN Sexy Singles Party, and

Tuesday Industry Night Parties  The best part, you can still swim during the parties. It makes for great photos too.

Well this season it looks like it’s going to be all out sexy, single and loving it. First up you get to pick out the 2013 North Beach Club Bikini Team, then go get your membership so you can instagram your summer at the pool.

Street Scene & Themes; Plus Philly.com and Philly Mag Links

Thinking what I should call random columns of photos, hmm. Street Scenes & Themes

Oh I’m a little light on the entries these past two days as I get my taxes together cause there’s not like waiting for the last minute.

Oh and it doesn’t hurt that the weather was spectacular either. Get out, get out, call out of work and enjoy the next two days before Spring returns…

Summer comes to Rittenhouse Square even before the buds on the trees bloom.

So funny today outside the Fox 29 Studios there were two guys with signs trying to get the Good Day Philly peeps attention. One said Hi Mike and had the Fox 29 logo, but the rest was illegible. I suggest using a marker and not a bic pen next time.

The theme today: bright yellow sunshine. Random shots on the street.

Not much yellow, but I love this shot of this very stylish gal eating outside Hop City Vedge

Friday I went to the Girard College Good Friends Event.

Saturday night I hit 3 events, including the Alzheimer’s Association of the Delaware Valley Inaugural Gatsby Gala.

Susie Celek and Julie Dorenbos Roll Out A New Ad Campaign and it’s HOT!! PLUS a new Skin Palette Spot

Julie Dorenbos & Susie Celek sport their wild side in the Bellevue.
I’m premiering the photos here, even before skinpalette.com. .

Skin Palette partnered up with the Sporting Club in the Bellevue to open
its state-of-the-art Airbrush Tan Suite this week. Best of Philly owners,
Julie Dorenbos and Susie Celek bring both a strong force of branding and
sunless innovation.

Being that Julie is no stranger to witnessing her husband, Philadelphia
Eagle Jon Dorenbos, sign autographs for the fans, she realized that her
and Susie couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to ask for an autograph as
well. These girls are adventurous, have you seen their segments on The Great Sports Debate every Thursday On Comcast Sportsnet

Rhonda Clark Carlson of the RCC Design Group had this to say about her
exclusive design: “The girls of Skin Palette are sexy, ahead of the curve
with their craft and sophisticated, that’s what we wanted to bring out in the
room’s aesthetic. It’s about being comfortable and pampering oneself in an
upscale and inviting environment. We wanted the space to be as beautiful
as you feel after having a Skin Palette session.”
Here’s Susie with Amy Stratton presenting to the Sporting Club team at
their Annual Kickoff Meeting. Make sure you stop by and see the girls at
their new location!

The 2013
Skin Palette campaign counters the top 2 fears in sunless tanning; orange
and streaky. The duo stands behind their “Never-Orange, Streak-Free
Guarantee”

Tune in for a behind the scenes look of the shoot with Internationally
Published Photographer, Justin Price (www.justinprice.com) on an
upcoming episode of The Great Sports Debate airing on Comcast and
