CITRS 2022 Dancing for Character

Noelle Palazzo Burg, HughE Dillon, Lauren Conlon, Sue Jacquette, Kristin Daly,
Kristyn Aldrich and Scott Brown participated in the CITRs Dancing for Character Charity Dance last month. The amateur dancers took time from their busy schedules as ace real estate brokers, student, moms, and entrepeneurs to learn to dance at the Danza Dancing Studio in order to seem like “stars” on the dance floor, and I’d have to say all of us succeeded.

Clay Hamlin is the CEO and co-founder of CITRS, as well as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Character. Its mission is of comprehensive character development. CITRS partners with school districts and youth organizations to develop character-centered environments where students thrive ethically, socially and academically and provides resources and tools to educators and organizations to help urban youth be successful in life.

The event was held at Cescaphe’s Vie on North Broad. They always do a great job with production and food.

Fundraising is a hard thing to do. Kudo’s to Lynsie Feinberg on the tremendous job she did producing this event. She did an excellent job while managing so many movable pieces, and a pandemic as the planning for this event began in 2019..

Thanks to this crew for coming out to support me, as well as a few others who were camera shy, and those who donated and couldn’t be there. I appreciate it so much.

Thanks to PhillyChitChat team member: Andre Flewellen for photographing the event. It was sooooo hard for me not to shoot an event I attended, but he of course did a fantastic job capturing everyone and the elements.

Scene: First Annual Philadelphia Metsquerade Gala at Crystal Tea Room

600 supportive, loving friends and family of Jacquie Reynolds Beck and Kerry O’Riordan McAdam gathered at the Crystal Tea Room on Friday night, February 25, 2022 for First Annual Philadelphia Metsquerade Gala.
This event is a fundraising gala to help find a cure for stage 4 metastatic breast cancer (MBC) which they both are living with. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go directly to METAvivor!

Kerry O’Riordan McAdam greeting the guests and tell her story. “No words could ever describe how grateful I am for every person who’s donated to our fundraiser so far no matter how big or small the amount was. I cannot believe we’ve already raised over $115k (now $404ks) towards metastatic breast cancer. That is HUGE! Jacquie and I have been able to name two grants after us with the money we’ve raised, both towards research that supports our specific subtypes – pretty cool!” DONATE

Candace Koltisko and Joseph Fernandez
Andreas Moerschel, Mary-Kate O’Riordan and Kieran Ryan
Asling Mauladad, Fahd Mauladad and Leon Armstong (I check Google it is her name)
Shelly Rogers, Kyle Rogers and Brian Beck
Regina Murphy and Jackie Martinez
Billy McAllister, Kevin Vanover and Mary Vanover
Ulana Chmara Kelly and Liam Kelly
Kristin Hartz, Jordan Harty, Rob Nolan and Ena Nolan
Philip Pappas and Stacey Smith

For those who don’t know, only ~3-5% of all breast cancer funding goes towards IV BC research, which isn’t enough. The only way Kerry, @jacquiebeck64, and all of the others others living with this disease stay alive is by the development of new treatments. The cancer is smart and the body becomes resistant to treatments. I’ve already gone through six different treatments and am currently on my seventh one. The more treatments you go through, typically the harsher the side effects, so I’m banking on a breakthrough treatment or cure in my lifetime.

Floral | The Flower Show Gala’s Best Dressed

The 2019 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show theme Flower Power!
A celebration of the Summer of Love!!

The 2019 Philadelphia Flower Show opened on Friday, March 1, 2019, with a black-tie gala. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and a cocktail party under a canopy of beautiful fauna and surrounded by 10,000 acres of flowers.

The Flower Show Gala is one of my favorites as the guests tend to wear a lot of bright colors, and fun floral inspired outfits. Here are some of my favorites.

Kayla Kohlenberg, Molly Kingdom, Lance Jones, and Jenna Kara
The Flower Show runs through March 10. Remember to hashtag your photos on Social Media with #flowershow Next Week I will pick out the best and run them on PhillyChitChat
Tara and Bonnie Lomax were headed out the door with their coats on, and were nice enough to take them off so I could see the fabulous floral.

Best of Show – Jane Pepper, former executive director and president of the PHS

To see more photos from the 2019 Philadelphia Flower Show head on over to CBSPhilly, PhillyVoice, and Philly Style Magazine. If you still don’t see your photo it might be in the May issue of Philly Mag in print.

Philly Style Magazine’s Best of Style 2017 – The Most Fabulous Fashion

Philly Style Magazine held their annual Best of Style 2017 party last night at the Kimmel Center. The theme this year was “Around The World”.

Over 1200 fashionable guests enjoyed food tastings from local Best of Style winners, including Little Lion (so many people wanted to know or asked me who was serving the sliders, it was them), Fine Palate (I loved how FP put all the forks in a big box ), HD1_5222 (Custom) Classic Cakes, Seasons 32 and many others while dancing the night away by CTO Entertainment, who’s been playing all the style events for over a decade.

There were so many beautiful dressed attendees, many wearing the very popular neon colors, which did my heart proud. You know I don’t want to see any black during the warmer months; although there are a few exceptions to my rule. It was hard for me to narrow it down, as usual, but I chose my favorite 24 photos. Some of these outfits are good examples of what to wear to a cocktail party.

As I made my way down Broad Street, I notice a fairly large crowd in front of the newly opened Palm restaurant. It’s back and better than ever. I really think the new Palm is going to be the new see, and be scene hot spot. A stand out in the crowd there was Francesca Ruscio looking stunning in House of CB.
HD1_5293 (Custom)Terry D’orsio and Ann Catania, Ten Pennies arrived to the party in style.

Actress Kristen Alderson looking stunning, attended with her mom Kathy. They came up from the shore to enjoy the hottest party of the summer, as many of the other guests did as well. Check out Kristen in the latest issue of Philly Style Magazine, she fills you in on what she’s been doing since she left General Hospital.

I caught up with Joseph Diorio with Buffy Harakidas and her former co-worker Ryann Olivia, who’s now over at Cheerleaders as Marketing Director working with another stunner in fashion – Vivian CamilleBOS17
Happy birthday earlier this summer, stunner Jill Rizen here with fashion stylist to the stars Alissa Frederico. Over the past 2 years her career has just blossomed like the Flower Wall she’s posing in front of; this morning she was live on Fox 29 chatting summer style with Jenn Frederick – down the shore!! Seriously the best dressed couple where-ever they go, the next, if not now, Philly Power Couple.
This past year they both made big moves in their careers: LR2 Custom tux wearing Brandon M. Morrison is now the COO at PRDC Properties while his lady love Stacey Kracher, wearing Saint Laurent, is partnering with Ajay Raju on projects they will announce soon.

She and Jim looked fabulous on the Friday morning news, and not a hair out of placeHD1_5208 (Custom)Dmitry Aybiander and Irina Sigal wearing her own creation.
BOS17Feeling my age I asked Alexa Scaltrito on the right, if her outfit was inspired by Bo Derek, she never heard of Bo Derek, and our conversation circled the drain with the mention of the movie “10”. We settled on Marilyn Monroe’s famous birthday dress as possibly the inspiration for her sexy frock from Fashion Nova as her friend Ashley Gallo gave us eye popping fashion all night in House of CB.  I think these outfits are worthy of The Kate Beaver – Hair of The Dog Fashion Nod 2013 .
Later in the day when I was chatting with Rahel Solomon, she had no idea who Bo Derek was either, or that Julie Andrews ever flashed in the movie. “OMG not Mary Poppins” Rahel said. Exactly that’s why she did it….
