Miley Cyrus’ Philly Producers Get Caught Up in Chris Brown/Frank Ocean Parking Spot Fight

You’ve probably heard by now that bad boy Chris Brown has gotten into another dust up, this time it was Frank Ocean, and TMZ says it was over a parking spot.

Well what I know is all hell broke loose:  Chris Brown was at Westlake Studio in the L.A. area listening to one of the
artists he represents. The sources say as Chris went to leave, Frank
Ocean
and his crew blocked Chris from leaving. The sources say Frank
said, “This is my studio, this is my parking spot.”  Caught up in the all out brawl were Philly music producers  Ronny FLIP Colson (above left with Pop Wansel ‏ [r])and Trunie Wreck who were working alongside Pop Wansel in the same building. (I first met them last month when they were working on Miley Cyrus’ new CD at Sigma Sound. Now they’ve moved the production out to LA to put the finishes touches on the new CD which should drop this spring. (& working on other projects) Ronny FLIP Colson has a mix tape coming out soon called SourDonuts

anyway… I saw this tweet and reached out to the guys for a statement.

What a great night! Chris Brown and Frank Ocean fight at the studio and and get handcuffed for it!! Lmaoooo!!
Seems everything was cool until Frank Ocean’s guy.
Yo funny shit is I tried to dip soon as I seen the cops til frank man pointed me out I got handled like an animal

I asked Flippa what happened and he said he and his brother just went outside for some air and the next thing you know they were caught up in this bust up and the cops put them in handcuffs, and gave them a banana for some odd reason. Flippa didn’t want to go into detail on why he thought the LAPD did that, you don’t mess around with those guys. (our conversation was longer than the above tweet, that was just the first contact)

I ain’t mad @ em though I just really don’t fuck with LAPD
I think Frank Ocean owes an apology to these guys who were obviously just getting some air.
I learned a new term, one which is “leaking”, which means
bleeding. Seems Frank Ocean cut his finger and there was blood places.
Frank later tweeted that he’s only going to be able to use two fingers
to play during the Grammy’s on February 10. I heard sauce used a couple times in their tweets, but I still can’t figure out that term. Anyone?
But the dope part bout this whole situation was that squally didn’t care bout the weed..I love LA..

(reminds me of one of my favorite songs.)

Snowy Friday Surprises & Santa Hats

Finally snow. If there’s anything a photographer loves it’s the falling snow, then right after that we want virgin snow ie no yellow snow or footprints

I went to the Bellevue yesterday to grab some lunch, when I came out at 4PM it had begun to snow and the streets were covered all ready. I was pleasantly surprised.

I ran over to the Shops at Liberty Place to pick up my tails for tonight’s Academy Ball, and saw this young lady slip on the snow. Chivarly is not dead as her boyfriend lifted her up in his arms to finish carrying her across the street.

Then I met up with my friend fashion blogger/stylist Ian Michael Crumm to explore the city in snow with our cameras. After we grabbed a bite to eat we headed out to my favorite spot, Rittenhouse Sq. (arggh footprints all over) Oh well the trees were still full of the fluffy stuff, the sidewalk was wet, people filled the park and it was great.
In theory I love this shot on the phone, but do you think it’s too blurry?

This is my favorite spot in Rittenhouse Square, the Tribute to Love Statue.

In past year’s I have festoned it with Santa hat’s and sent them out as Christmas cards.

Actually nothing was sacred in that park that day. I never liked the shot of the Lion with the hat on, and well it was too icy in the fountain for me to decorated the Duck Lady.

City Lights. I never get tired of shooting the Square.

Then we headed home. Couldn’t believe the snow at the Rodin Museum remained virtially untouched on the grounds on the museum and I was able to get some great shots. Check out this new application that just came out. It’s going to revolutionize Social Media. This I can handle.

http://vine.co/v/b50eq3nFIMi
It’s only available for IPhone now, and Mike tells me that in a month or so it will be available for Adnroid phones. OK so IPhone wins this round, but can they swap out a battery like I can?
Ian and I experimented with the new medium. He had a great idea to capture,
we didn’t realize it had volume though. Now we do.
Check out the shot I took of  Ian Michael Crumm on the steps of the Rodin.

American Cancer Society Party with a Purpose Gala.

Peoples, I’m still feeling under the weather. Thanks for the feed back on my little gossip column yesterday, I had a good response. I hope to do it more often. Here’s an event I didn’t have a chance to write about or attend as it happened at the height of Sandy. The organizers did send the pixs to me so here they are. I don’t always do this as I usually have so much content, but it’s slow and I haven’t gone out. But this weekend really kicks my calendar up a notch and I’ll be busy, busy, busy.

More than 400 guests braved the
start of Hurricane Sandy at Hyatt at the Bellevue on Sunday, October 28, 2012 for
a very important cause. The crowd hoped for “More Tomorrows” during the 12th
annual Friends of the American Cancer Society Party with a Purpose Gala.
Friends of the American Cancer Society President Beverly Goldberg and event co-chairs planned the event
honoring Steven M. Altschuler, MD, CEO of Children’s Hospital of
Philadelphia, with the 2012 Humanitarian Award.

PhillyChitChatter: Tidbits and Pixs of People, Places and Things

Oh still getting kicked by this cold. If follow me on Twitter or FB you know I am sad about Dan Gross’ leaving the Philly Daily News. Everyone is emailing me asking if I am going to replace him, he’s irreplaceable. I’m going to revive my PhillyChitChatter column for those tidbits that don’t fit into my columns. Know that most of the gossipy stuff I report is tucked in my columns at PhillyMag, and Philly.com, when I appear on Fox 29 and of course my twitter. I’ll be upcoming events and celebrity sightings here, as well as people on the move and new family members, like

I had lunch with Alison Frick and Dave Warren a few weeks back at Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse across from the Rittenhouse Square (I had the burger, it was delicious). They brought along their new twins Evan & Lila born on Christmas Eve. Catch Dave on NBC10Philadelphia, but for how long now that the new weather girl has come to town. I told Dave he needs to start a daddy blog, twins, hot daddy, I can imagine how funny that would be. So adorable.
And then I found this photo on their FB page.

In the past few weeks I took photos of Rittenhouse Square before they took the lights down. On the right I caught a couple kissing. I love those spontaneous, uninterrupted shots.

So nice my friend Patty Jackson put a photo of us on her 411 Page. I miss her on NBC10’s The Ten Show. She needs to be on the air.

You always hear about those terrible descriptions put on a receipt for take out. Well here’s I love this one “Cute Couple” for Donna Coghlan Pasquale and Charlie Pasquale, when they went to the Great American Pub recently.

Congratulations Linda PhamVertlieb (Frugal Philly Mom) and Nicholas Ryan on the birth of their son, I know older Sophia is thrilled to be a big sister.

I was visiting one of my friends new pad on Rittenhouse Square. Guess where I’ll be for the first real snow, lightning storm and well just to hang. She said I could work at home at her home. Sounds good.

Yesterday in my PhillyMag column I wrote that the Roosevelt Pub is changing their name to the “R Bar”. They promise to still serve the same delicious burgers, and brewskies. I look forward to checking it out.

Tim Adams is hysterical. Hey I have a note on my FB page that I may take your photos off, if you don’t like any of these photos on my site, drop me a line. I will only be publishing these nice shots.

Love this shot of Carol Tamburino and myself. Wish I took it with a real camera.

The Philadelphia History Museum andHistory Making Productions invite you to join us for the television Premiere of Philadelphia: The Great Experiment, Episode 3, Promise for a Better City, Thursday January 24, at 7:30p.m. on 6ABC.
Co-written by Janet Benton with senior writer Nathaniel Popkin for History Making
Productions, Sam Katz’s documentary company, which aims to create a full
complement of documentaries on Philadelphia history, with the series title *The
Great Experiment. *This third episode covers the post-World War II period,
covering American Bandstand, labor disputes, the growth of highways and the
suburbs, civil rights actions, and more, and closing with the memorable
Phillies’ loss and the Columbia Avenue riots. Here’s a link that brings you
to the trailer from the TV station :

Meal of the week: I had a delicious Beet Salad at R2L. It was delicious, and it’s winter. You usually don’t find beet salad on the menu. I love beet salad so I will try it anywhere, anytime.

I love Instagram. If you have it, follow me at PhillyChitChat. I took this fun shot from a moving bus. Perfect formation. It’s slow this week in the social calendar, and of course I have a cold too so I don’t want to frighten anyone. Plus I did write 3 columns for PhillyMag, and one for Philly.com and it’s only Wednesday, so I haven’t completely slacked off. Check out my PhillyMag column and the Auto Show Gala.

Hair of the Dog Bro’ Dance Off Video, Michael Jackson’s Shoes & Link to my PhillyMag Column

Philadelphia’s swanky Hair O’ the Dog celebrated its 19th year on Saturday, January 19th at the Loews Hotel.

There was also a sports auction as well as these Michael Jackson memorabilia. For $25,000 each you could own Michael Jackson’s coat, the right and/or left shoe, all which were signed. (I shot this about 1:15AM, at that time there was a $25,000 bid on one of the pairs of shoes)

Sometime after I took the shot above these shoes, they disappeared from the auction area.

Update: Stop the presses Michael Jackson’s Shoes have returned. Martino Cartier, Martino Cartier Salon (who donated the shoes for the Hair of the Dog auction the sales benefit Friends Are By Your Side), Kenneth Moton, 6ABC, and Dan Cronin, Chorus Communications, as well as co-founder of The Hair of the Dog Gala. Seems three drunk guys carted off the shoes, got into a random limo to the after party with some random girls, then left the shoes behind as their minds wandered from the shoes into a different direction.

At the end of the night everyone let their hairdown at the Hair of the Dog Gala and danced off.

PS sorry I didn’t run into Buffy Morgan, Director of Chorus Communications (r), last night. She did an awesome job with Jen Sherlock putting on this whole thing. Every year it’s bigger, better and the most talked about event. Also in this picture Megan Heaton, realtor, guest and Lindsay Furman, Model. Check out my photos in my PhillyMag Column HERE.
