OK The Draft is pretty spectacular to have in Philly. For me I don’t really know who the players are. Thankfully my new friend Eddie Alderson was with me Wednesday and could fill me in even on our own players. So bad of me right. Eddie wasn’t with me last night, so we’re just going to post the photos and I bet you know who these guys. It was a fun night. I didn’t get to go to the NFL Experience yet, tonight I will I think. I do have one more party to attend. I really hope you guys get out there and enjoy.
Thanks Logan Hotel for allowing me to come up and shoot this
Thanks to my neighbors the Bernick’s for allowing me to shoot this from your balcony
AMAZING Eagles Fashion
I do know my buddy Brandom Brooks. What a great guy, always says hi Hughe.

Philadelphia, PA – EastPassyunkAvenueBusiness Improvement District presents Flavors on the Avenue: A Street Festival on Sunday, April 30, 2017, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. The brand-new street festival will feature five blocks of street food, seasonal sips, craft beer, live music, sidewalk sales and free family fun on five blocks – from Broad to Dickinson streets. Twenty-seven award-winning restaurants and bars will bring their signature cuisine outside under the blue skies. Craft beer and wine will pour from the festival beer tent – and select restaurants will also offer seasonal cocktails, beer and wines for the crowds.
Peter Giannopoulos and Tim Goulet serve up some Sly Fox.
EastPassyunkFlavors on the Avenue is free to attend and open to all ages. Food will be specially priced between $3.00 and $6.00 (average) and be pay-as-you-go from individual restaurants. Craft beer at the EPABID tent will be $5.00 each, and wine will be $7.00 a glass.
For those seeking a more exclusive – and an even tastier experience – a limited number of VIP ticket books are available to benefit EPABID’s programs and services. Each book is $50 and includes a ticket for food at all 27 restaurants, plus two drinks from the beer tent, and complimentary valet parking. Come thirsty for craft beer, wine and signature sips along EastPassyunk. EPABID will present a beer tent featuring $5.00 drafts with selections from local brewer Yard’s Brewing Company. EPABID will also pour wine by the glass for $7.00, sponsored by Southern Wines and Spirits. Selections will include Chole Rose Sonoma, Chole Chardonnay Vintage, Cupcake Sauvignon Blanc Special Selection and Concannon Cabernet Sauvignon. Select restaurants will also serve seasonal refreshments along the strip – and in sidewalk café areas.
Along with ample food and drink, Flavors will offer free family friendly activities – including a music zone, art zone and activity zone (at the Singing Fountain). Lume Studios, EastPassyunk’s new community art center, is teaming up with the neighborhood’s resident toy store, Tildie’s Toy Box, to create these distinct kid-friendly zones for families to enjoy. Look for them scattered throughout the festival, making the perfect pit stops as parents enjoy all of the sights, sounds, and tastes of the event. The Philadelphia Museum of Art will also be participating, and hosting an art show from noon to 4:00pm at The Gateway, at Broad Street and EastPassyunkAvenue. Additionally, boutiques and businesses along EastPassyunk will also host workshops, activities and family fun inside their spaces.
Over 80 of the region’s top makers and crafters will also line the streets. “EastPassyunk wants to celebrate local talent, local makers, local artists,” added Zenzola. Local Passyunk gift boutique Nice Things Handmade will curate the makers and crafters that will offer home décor, paintings, candles, jewelry, pottery, furniture, soaps, artisan foods, handmade pet treats, fashion – and everything in between.
While EastPassyunk has the top eats in the city – and a thriving makers’ scene – the Avenue also boasts some of the city’s hottest new retail and fashion boutiques. Look for sidewalk sales, spring fashions, gifts, greenery and more along the strip.
While you sip, shop and savor, look for live bands and entertainment to come alive throughout the festival.
For more information and directions, visit www.visiteastpassyunk.com. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter at @EPassyunkAve and on Instagram at @eastpassyunk, and use the hashtag #FlavorsOnAve before and during the event for a chance to win great prizes.
Flavors on the Avenue is presented by the EastPassyunkAvenueBusiness Improvement District, with sponsors Acme Markets, Alphabet Academy, Bell Beverage, Constitution Health Center, Gold Medal Environmental, Lume, Nice Things Handmade, PARC, ParkOps, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Samuels and Son Seafood, South Philly Review, Tildie’s Toy Box, Yards Brewery and Yelp.
HISTORY OF FLAVORS
Flavors on the Avenue is inspired by EastPassyunk’s former Flavors fundraiser held under a tent each year. After eleven years, many of which sold out, the event goes from under the tent and into the street. Capacity expands from 1,000 guests to thousands. The tent is gone and the event goes from a parking lot to five blocks. Instead of food and drink, the event now includes family activities, music and retail sidewalk sales.
“This year we wanted to go bigger and include more businesses and invite the entire community,” added Zenzola. “We sold out for nearly eleven years. We were limited in what we could do with size of the tent and scale of the activities. Now, we want to invite everyone to five blocks of the best food in the city. Come enjoy the day with us!”

NFLDraft 2017 Philadelphia – What To Eat, I have the Menus and it looks delicious
Philly is excited, the NFLDraft is THIS WEEK. Note to drivers the entire Parkway From the Art Museum to 20th Street will be closed to cars and people until after the NFLDraft. This is so they can finish out the build, as well as secure the area so that everyone can have a safe and fun time during the event. The menu choices are very Philly, and reasonable for an event like this.
NFL Draft Experience presented by Dannon® Oikos® Triple Zero, invites families and fans of all ages to enjoy a FREE admission, three-day football festival held along the half-mile stretch of Benjamin Franklin Parkway from Thursday, April 27 – Saturday, April 29. Yesterday I published highlights of the opening ceremonies. While I was at the museum I checked out the gift shop, who doesn’t like shopping. Well I found quite a few interesting gifts in there (I’m sure appropriate in their time) and here are 20 of them….
It’s a beautiful gift store, and my favorite kind – the one where you don’t have to buy a ticket to the museum to shop at, so you can run in and buy that
book, tshirt or one of the oddities I’m about to show you. This isn’t odd per se, except for the kite part. Kinda wonder why they didn’t use a slim piece of medal to make the kite fly, but that’s just me.
Betsy has never looked so good. All these dolls were around $20
What the heck is this, I know what it is but it’s an oddity for sure. I guess it’s a paperweight
Sealed with a kiss
wall plates
Ornaments with the log of Museum of the American Revolution
These had some weight to them
A hat for everyone
Pewter Dice, Musket Ball and a Signal Whistle, which also are sold as bracelets and necklaces in the jewelry section
Historic telescope and musket souvenirs
Personalized Pen Knifes (don’t try and bring these on your flight home.)Paperweights
These are so cute and only $14.95
How’d they get that boat in there?
Patriotic candy. Be warned the chocolate Liberty Bells are fragile.
I have to have these George Washington Socks. Mom is eyeing the scarves.
The rumblings of the American Revolution began more than a decade before the “shot heard ’round the world” ignited America’s War for Independence.

Yesterday I attended the official opening of the American Revolution Museum. I had a chance to see it earlier this month at the Opening Gala, and it’s really something else. You have to go see it. The official opening was special too.
The Museum of the American Revolution hosted its grand opening celebration on April 19, 2017, the 242nd anniversary of the “shot heard ‘round the world” that ignited the Revolutionary War in 1775.
The opening ceremony stretched across Philadelphia’s historic area, starting with a reflective and reverential tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the Revolution at Washington Square, continuing with patriotic fanfare at Independence Hall, and then concluding with the official dedication and ribbon-cutting on the Museum’s outdoor plaza at Third and Chestnut Streets. I caught up with them at Independence Hall.
Former Pennsylvania Governer Edward G. Rendell; Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe; Gov. Tom Wolfe and the ceremony was hosted by Vai Sikahema, NBC10
Then the parade headed down Chestnut Street towards the new museum.
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe
Former Governor of Maryland Martin O Malley (l)
