SANTA PAWS at the Sporting Club Last Saturday – Or GN Kang’s Dogs are as cute as she is!!

Pet lovers brought their four-legged friends for some holiday cheer. Pet portraits were taken with Santa, and their was a cute shopping village for pet gifts, agility course, and lots of other dogs to play with. The proceeds benefited PAWS.
Our hosts for the day was Amy Stratton, GM for The Sporting Club and Kayla Gillin, Executive Assistant to Marketing and Advertising at The Sporting Club at The Bellevue
Santa PAWS was a huge success: we raised almost $1,200 for our lifesaving efforts! With adoptable dogs to meet, an agility course to play on, and plenty of great pet gifts to browse, there was plenty of holiday cheer to go around. Many thanks to all merchants and volunteers who participated, and especially to our friends at the Sporting Club at the Bellevue for being such gracious hosts, and to photographer Nell Hoving for her fabulous pet portraits with Santa! (With an assist by Bianca Cevoli)

GN Kang and her pooches Regina and Sammy . (Regina rode all around town on Saturday resting on my shoulder. So adorable.)
Tie die shirts for doggies as Maria would say
Sweet pup cakes. Thanks to the vendors

Vendors include:
Pupcakes (gourmet treats)
Bone Jour (pet supplies from their Old City boutique)
Peace of Color (tie-dyed dog clothing)
Walk it Like a Dog (pet supplies from their Queen Village boutique)
PhilaPets (pet sitting/dog walking services)

Then I took a tour of the Sporting Club at the Bellevue, and this year will be like every other one where I set getting healthy and in shape will be my goal. I’m not sure if I will be doing it here, but it will be somewhere. I’m going to do an entry once a week like I did when I went to Fusion Cross Training, which I loved but am entirely too heavy to do since it’s a lot of body resistance, and I have a lot of body. I will also be doing a V-Log once in awhile. I know when I did the Fusion Cross Training it inspired people, and hopefully with the right program we can lose weight, and get healthy together.

Philadelphia Bar Association’s First Hispanic Chancellor Rudolph Garcia

Philadelphia Bar Association welcomed its first Hispanic Chancellor in its 208-year history, Rudolph Garcia, on December 7 at 12:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at the Hyatt at the Bellevue. He delivered his inaugural speech at the event.
Read his Inaugural Speech Here Traditionally every January the Chancellor greets each and every member of the Association at a luncheon held the first week in the new year. He literally shakes each of their hands. (Now that I see his head shot I can tell that the guy at the podium is not Garcia, as he is sitting at the left. [I thought I was one and done getting these two shots – LOL] I didn’t stay for the whole event as it happened on my lunch hour, so I had to return to work, but I wanted you to see what goes on that is unique.)

FEASTIVAL Holiday Party – hosted by Stephen Starr, Michael Solomonov and Audrey Claire Taichman

The restaurant buzz in Philadelphia keeps growing, people want to talk about food almost more than they want to eat it, chefs make headlines whether they are changing restaurants or changing menu’s, and a group of people created a celebration of food and art called Feastival which coincides with the Fringe Festival in the Fall. Chaired by Michael Solomonov, Audrey Claire Taichman, and Stephen Starr, the event was held in a NoLibs warehouse. (Which I wrote about in my column last September.)

Real Estate Attorney Tony Forte of Saul Ewing LLP, Ryan Hammel, Audrey Claire Taichman (Audrey Claires & Twenty Manning) and Michael Solomonov, (Zahav, Percy Street)
Always great to see my friends at Philadelphia Magazine, Kirsten Henri, Food Editor and Tom McGrath, Editor
Eric Rymshaw Owner, Fury Design Inc, Vesna Todorovic Sacks, a Serbian artist and Jim Fulton, Fury Design Inc. Fury did most of the interior design at the Feastival in September.
James Stein, Museum Educator at Philadelphia Museum of Art, Lauren Vague and Edward Stein. How adorable is Lauren’s shirt. I wonder where she got it.
Melissa Bizzak, Tracy Seng, Sachi Jonas, Ilana Waber and Toni Cavaliere. When Tracy’s not out having a good time with her friends, she’s decorating the dollhouse with some Christmas sparkle. Looking forward to my Whisper date with the girls in the new year. IS it 2011 already. I’m still not done my Y2K spam yet!Mary and Michael Solomonov. On Wednesday, December 22 at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., Chef Michael Solomonov will host “A Very Jewish Christmas” at Zahav (237 St. James Place, 215-625-8800). This festive dinner will include Israeli-inflected Chinese food and all-time great movies from the early 80’s shown on a big screen, and will cost $50 per person.
The party was held at one of my fav spots SAMPAN. As you know I was just there last week enjoying their new Korean Fried Chicken, which was delicious. I ran into my new favorite bartender Andrew, who knows how to stir my diet coke just right. It’s always fun to see Laura at the front door too.
Chef, Jeremy Miller, RG Krelder and Nikki Baruffi were our servers for the night along with Kristin Davis (But not that Kristin Davis from SATC), Elizabeth Harris and Amanda Span; who cut off their Feastival t shirts into stylish Flashdance era ones.
Bob Bickell and Patti Klein, (The Restaurant Club) Patti and I will be having a holiday lunch at the Prime Rib this week, I’ve never eaten there, although I have had a diet coke at the bar, oh and photographed Joe Piscopo there a few weeks back.
Chris Egan, Carol Klein and Peter Rothenberg
Hilary Regan and Roland Kassis. Roland tells me that since I last chatted with him he’s opened a Yoga Studio with Heather Rice called Amrita Yoga & Wellness in No Liberties. Not to far from his place Café La Mande at 816 N 4th St
Robin Barnes and Shannon Baffoni
Liz Trasniundi, Jason Norton (I just met Jason Saturday at Saks Fifth Ave when the Purse Forum founder stopped by for a seminar), Alexander Kacala, Karina Kacala and Hillary Harvey
Carolyn Schlecker Managing Director of the Fringe Festival and Jennifer Bohnenberger, Vice President of the Fringe Festival
JT Christianson, Sheeba Mankus, Gregg Krantz and Joshua Thibautt
Can these two look any happier. It seems so natural to bring these two back together to continue that magic they had two years ago when the collaborated on Foobooz, when Kirsten was shy and never let me photograph her. BTW look for the launch of PhillyMag’s FOOBOOZ today. Next year on Boston Mag, and after that a little bit of Foobooz in a city near you.

Feastival hopes you’ll join them for the Second Annual FEASTIVAL on September 14, 2011, honoring Governor Edward G. Rendell! Look for the Gov to auction off another dinner for two and tickets to join the him for a World Series game, especially now that we have a good chance to make if with Cliff Lee & The C2C2 Team. Last year a similar package went for $17,000.

Cause their holiday parties are like no other. You might recall the Christmas Tree they had at the Festival of Trees at XIX a few weeks back, a little off the beaten track, or more like perfect for the Osbourne’s house. Well enter their sanctuary at One South Broad
and you won’t be surprised to find a similarly interesting tree made up of empty “TuB” liquor bottles from their client LE MÉRIDIEN’S Amuse Bar.
Kegs, liquor and pretzel’s were also the fare for the night at this eccentric Philadelphian advertising agency which creates some of the most visually appealing ad campaigns this side of the Mississippi, but don’t take my word for it, in the lobby is a kids wagon full of awards.
One of Red’s outstanding employees is Annie Heckenberger (make ck payable to HughE) with friends
Broc Libra and Megan Zaporowski. (Seriously I would like to change my name to Broc Libra, is that not the coolest name?)
Palmer Enfeld, Tom Ashley (Invincible Pictures)and Carrie Ashley.
Red Tettemer is a Philadelphia-based advertising agency. Within its red
walls, thought-benders, storytellers and content creators build brands on
any media platform that will have them. He was hanging out with Aaron Grando, Kevin Ritchie and Amy Rose
For more than 12 years, Red Tettemer
has thrived on energizing clients and their businesses a few currently
being energized include kajeet, a wireless mobile service for kids; PBS KIDS
Sprout; Pennsylvania Tourism Office; Five Below; and Hatfield Quality Meats. (Actual items on window sill, really I didn’t put them there.)
Jesica Quack, Riker Blank and Ahmad Ajouz probably hope they’re invited to Red’s New Year’s Eve party in Philly because the views of the Delaware River are unobstructed.

Don’t be fooled by the sign, I’ve read Annie’s tweets and sometimes she’s there way past midnight.

Philadelphia Eagles Michael Vick Celebrates his Future Wife’s Kijafa Frink’s Birthday & wait til u see what he got her. Was it in the budget?

Philadelphia Eagle’s Quarterback Michael Vick had a lot of celebrating to do after the big win against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
He threw a birthday shindig for the future Mrs Vick, Kijafa Frink at G Lounge on Monday night. Guests began arriving at 10PM and included Juqua Parker, LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, Joselio Hanson, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Brent Celek, Jon Dorenbos and included a few ladies like Renee Reese, Carmena Ayo-Davies, Steph Mo, Julie Dorenbos, Susie Celek and Delicia Cordon.
Sure enough MS PNK Elephant tweeted earlier today, “get there early or you will be locked out!” How many sweet things missed out on that sweet thing above. Sunday night Kijafa celebrated a Pre birthday bash@32 degrees with a bunch of girlfriends to watch the Eagles kick Dallas’ butt.

How about this SWEET ride Michael Vick bought for his Kijafa. I know it’s gonna be a good time. A brand new Porsche Panamera!!!!
UPDATE: The next day (WED) I was going to do a report on the birthday party for my NBC Ch 248 Non-Stop TV Show 9:30PM every night (Gotta Tip email me I award you with tickets, invites and gift bags.) ,

I forgot to show y’all what @ got me for my bday! Don’t hate lol!
Last Night (Wed 12/15/10) Michael Vick and Kijafa Frink and about 12 of their Friends headed over to Yakitori Boy at 211 N 11th Street in Chinatown for a little Karoake in a private room. The guests enjoyed sushi, drinks and Brown Betty Cupcakes on Kijafa’s actual birthday. Kijafa’s says this is not the last party this week to celebrate her birthday, and after standing by her man for the past five years I think she deserves all the loving she’s getting.

ANOTHER UPDATE on Thursday: Such a Wuss I am. After the whole Porsche disappearing from her TwitPic Feed I thought maybe I should take off the story cause I don’t want to cause any problems for Michael Vick who is trying to get his life back together. Say what you will but I really believe in 2nd chances, and so the story didn’t run on NBC yesterday because I was overly sensitive to Vick about the Porche, because if your in Bankruptcy, can buy a Porsche, I didn’t think so. BUT NOW I KNOW WHY THE PHOTO WAS PULLED from Kijfa’s twitter feed. Vick’s no dummy, he is improving his image and he gave EXCLUSIVE PIXS TO TMZ. It’s Karma after I lost the exclusive to the Beiber last week going to IHop to TMZ when I tipped off the IHop people that their story was valuable on a national level as I tried to gather info. I haven’t explained how that happened and but I will write about it soon. BUT TMZ still got some great exclusive shots that you can enjoy below. That Michael Vick not afraid of the limelight and making dough where ever he can. What’s up with this Yankee’s hat? I’m just mad I didn’t run over to Yakatori Boy and grab a picture when I was tipped off. I didn’t think he had national appeal, but he’s creating it. Good for him, that’s how you do PR!

When the Philadelphia Eagles aren’t killing it on the field, they do a lot of Charity Work

Last Monday The Arc of Philadelphia hosted the Holiday Blitz fundraiser at Chickie’s & Pete’s with the Philadelphia Eagles which drew a nice crowd benefiting the organization;
The Arc of Philadelphia serves and advocates for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The event also honored Arc/PDDC supporter Pamela Baker with special appearances by The Philadelphia Eagles and Eagles alumni
Comcast Michael Barkam, Angela Giambrone and Mike Barnes, Director of Marketing and Development
Jon Dorenbos, guest, guest, Julie Dorenbos and Susie Celek. This was Jon & Julie’s 2nd charity event in 3 days, as earlier they were at the Moyer Foundation event at Sigma Sound. Did you see the picture I took of them in the Inquirer Sunday? Jon Dorenbos, Jamie Moyer, Johari & Jimmy Rollins

The Eagles Pep Band gets the crowd in the swing of things.
When Todd Herremans isn’t killing it on the field, he supports many charities like PAWS and The Arc of Philadelphia
Alyssa Rieter and Melissa Moratti having a good time checking out the silent auction

Consisting of a lot of great sports memorabilia. I encourage fans to really attend these types of events. Not only are you helping a good charity,
but you get to meet your favorite sports star as well as get shots of them. They are lending their talent to raise money for a good cause, and are more than happy to accommodate you. I try and list as many of these events on my public calendar as possible, plus check the sports teams calendars as events are also listed there.
