DID DEMI MOORE SAVE A LIFE TONIGHT? Demi Moore may have prevented a suicide after receiving text on her Twitter Account.

Drama played out on Twitter as I was trolling the site earlier this morning I @iPhillyChitChat got a retweet that made me want to do a little more investigating. This kid (Jeremy Lynch of Casselberry, Fl) tweets to @mrskutcher (Demi Moore) that no one loves him and he is going to hang himself on a live feed computer TV (I’m glad someone paid attention to him, cause it all looks suspicious to me. He only has 4 postings and looks to have set the account up last night) He also discovered the secret of getting a lot of followers in a short time (people are always asking me the secret, I don’t recommend this way) by getting over 200 followers in just a few short hours with his cry for help, which is what he is saying with the last Tweet to Demi
Demi Moore asks him “R U Really Asking For Help?”
And it’s all played out in Tweets about how to save this kid. This girl is smart enough to contact a suicide prevention line and the Castelberry Police (Many people did). The police verify to HeyKim that they are there and prevented Jeremy from harming himself. So maybe it was the hundreds of folks that friended him that saved him.

Will we see them reunite on a morning talk show soon (As Twitter fame occurs ie girl that Coco follows was on the tube late last week). Hopefully after Jeremy gets some therapy.

Update on story in the NY Post: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/demi_moore_twitter_account_part_LbGU4i9mtHRhoC9Qmpa9KP

My Big Fat Greek Wedding Actress Nia Vardalos also had a hand in saving Jeremy and confirms that this wasn’t a hoax. (Twitter saves Lives)

People do care, strangers care. You don’t have to reach out to Demi Moore, you just have to reach out to the Twitter World, and definitely

Suicide Prevention Line – Don’t Tweet for help, call professionals. People do care.

Are you in crisis? Please call 1-800-273-TALK

Are you feeling desperate, alone or hopeless? Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255), a free, 24-hour hotline available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Your call will be routed to the nearest crisis center to you.

ST PATRICK’S DAY 2010 PHOTOS PHILADELPHIA

St. Patrick’s Day 2010 – Joan & Pat who work with me at Kohn, Swift & Graf. Every year Pat makes Irish Potato’s. Yum. Co-worker Jared Solomon who urges you to Vote for Joe Sestak for Senator.
Then it was over to McGillins for my traditional Erin Go Crazy hitting as many bars as possible to see what everyone was up to. (BTW another important date to remember – I passed the million readers mark today, that means in less than 3 years I got 1,000,000 views of Philly Chit Chat – Yeah. So tune in cause I’m gonna start changing it up a bit. Hmm what was that about screwing around with a good thing?)
Waking Ned Divine

Danny Boy

Darby O’Gill and The Little People

Michael Collins

Part of the reason there’s no good hangover remedy is that, although the phenomenon has probably been around since humans discovered alcohol, there’s no single scientifically proven reason for a hangover, although there are correlations with the various symptoms of the “Irish flu.”
John and Lisa. Thanks John for reading PhillyChitChat everyday, I appreciate it.
Diane O’Mara, Suzanne Glass (Thanks Suzanne for my green beads, which complemented my entire black outfit) and Jim Woods. Enjoying the Green Beer at McGillins and the food. They just got out of work and only wanted to go to McGillins, who this year is celebrating 150 years of business. I wonder what they did during prohibition?
Friends and Nadine Thompson and Amy Sodos. Love that they are all sporting some green, especially love the hat. No doubt this 4some had a fab time.
Steve and Matt Taylor some kind of charity event happening on 3/19. Bridget Lavelle, Jim McNichol and very drunk girl who had been there since 1PM and couldn’t understand a word I said, but kept telling me “don’t forget to mention charity.”
Mike Mentee and friends. Someone wrote I’m with the guy with the red haired wig. Hmm (That reminds me, someone tipped me off that Larry Mente went and got his haircut somewhere in Chestnut Hill yesterday. Although always fun to know these facts, I probably wouldn’t run out and photograph that, but thanks for the tip.)
Nathan Tuno, Morgan Levine, Teresa, Anne Ryan and Joe Milliken. Morgan’s one of the million people who have read PCC. Thanks.
(This is the conversation I think they’re having.) Yo brother I got your back. She’s messin’ wit ya head. Forget her. Let’s have another drink, wear our hats backwards and get drunk, it’s fuckin’ St. Patrick’s Day Bro!!

I wonder if those sunglasses got lost by the end of the night?
A Manwich
My favorite & last shot cause McGillins was off the hook crowded and I could barely think.

Sayonara til next year McGillin’s, well of course I will still be eating lunch there every other week. (BTW McGillins amazingly chock full of gays, straights, blacks, whites, Asians you name it & a seeing eye dog, everyone was Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and they were partying there.)
Oh La La two nursing students from Jefferson who drank a lot, and I mean A LOT of vodka before they left their dorms they told me, as they were tilting over. I told the girls, go upstairs, they are so jammed in, there’s no chance of you falling over.
“I don’t understand, just 20 years ago I was able to pull an all nighter?” (Seriously, you have to love the guys suspenders, and the fact they are falling down and he can’t be bothered to fix them)
I made my way to Midtown Village where this guy needed the pole to remain upright.
as I rounded the corner I hear a familiar voice, Tony Raw they call him. Tony has a stake in RAW, Sumo and APO. I had never been to APO, so Tony had his right hand man, and cocktail mechanic extraordinaire take me around.

You got to check out the outdoor lounge, he said. We just opened for the season yesterday. He was so right, not only is it outdoors, but I love it’s style, vibe and relaxation mood. So did the two girls who declined a pix as they were enjoying their sage wisdom drinks and philly pretzels. Colan McGeehan, Caitlin McGeehan and Cristy Lughlin joing their friends and
co-workers at APO (used to be Apothecary, I hear). I asked them why they chose this place over say the Irish Pub or McGillins. They were looking for a quiet time to chit chat with their friends. One of these folks told me that Bradley Cooper was in town today, told me he stopped by the production office, damn it’s in my office building, how did I miss him. SO TIPSTERS if you see Bradley Cooper or any interesting folks, write me at the email address in the sidebar, or DM me on twitter @IPhillyChitChat and you might get a gift bag or two tickets to one of the fabulous events I go to. Or at least a clean copy of the next photo I take of you at an event, or one I’ve taken in the past. Thanks)
I called my It Girl earlier today and said HEY Girl where you going for this holiest of holidays. And she said Sampan for dinner with Mom & Jeff G. What it’s St Patrick’s Day? But dinner with family and friends should be a high priority too. Carol is super excited to see Sabs in Dancing with the Philadelphia Stars for Sickle Cell Anemia on April 18. This weekend the girls are jetting to Miami for a mother daughter weekend with longtime friends Sharon Coia and Kelly Jones, married to Seattle Hawks Julius Jones.
Jeff Guaracino, Carol Tamburino and Sabrina Tamburino Thorne.
Thanks to Randal & gang for taking good care of me at lunch and now again as a breeze thru. Love this peanut butter vanilla ice cream for dessert, or for the paparazzi on the go.
Where Publisher Laura Burkhart was enjoying a pow wow with the Sofitel’s Anthony Geistwite.
The I jetted to Hacina Saadi’s Ladies Who Supper at Lacroix at the Rittenhouse Hotel. Here are the ladies. I’m going to write a separate entry on these folks soon and what Hacina’s Dinners are about. I just wanted to note that I was here tonight. One of the ladies, 2nd from left sitting, Michelle Stock Denton, had a whirlwind day. She took the day off, went to Fado’s for breakfast at 8PM, I heard the line was a block long, it was pancakes and beer on the menu. Then it was off to the Irish Pub, McGillins and now dinner with friends at Lacroix. What a trooper, love her style. She also said she did wear green during the daylight, but changed into super style at night.
Arrived at Meritage for dinner with Matt Vlahos and Jimmy Style Contreras by 9:15PM. I had never been there to eat so it was a real treat, in fact, thanks Matt for dinner. I will write up a little something on a separate entry later this week.
But you have to see this asparagus special I had. DELICIOUS and pretty with the Quail egg on top. I also had the special which folks have been raving about Korean Short Rib Tacos. Yum.
Co-owner Michelle was so excited about the warm weather, she pulled out her putter and began to hit a few balls on the sidewalk outside. Also spotted on this warm night, Clare P, hubby and friend as well as David Orphanides (Look for his new restaurant FARE to open in June, Fairmount), Andy Heckenberger, Casey and Michael DeBaecke.

Fado at 11:15PM (reminds me of how Bennigans used to throw their parties in the parking lot in Mt Laurel NJ, tent and all)Kate Kelly and Tracy Best were beat and ready to hit the hay when I caught them leaving Tavern on Broad. Look for their new fashion/food/style blog to hit the internet airwaves soon.
On my way up Walnut Street I found the mayor (green shirt) and his bestie waiting to hit the Walnut Room, a club I have never heard of, looks like it’s in a secret batcave.

On my way to Strongbox I passed the Irish Pub. (oh as it was nearing midnight, I also passed a lot of vomit, public urination and one too many bums asking the big guy for a quarter. Look fellas do you really think anyone would give you anything but a dirty look when you call them “big guy?”)Kiss Me I’m Irish and wear a diaper? What’s this about?
Strongbox was packed, a few peeps wearing green, a couple flashing clover leaf necklaces, off the hook music, and a VIP status or wanted by my ex-wife for child support don’t take my picture stare folks. OK well you know Strongbox is pulling in the VIPs. Tonight at the StatusGlobal promoted party you could find from the New Orleans Saints – Jahri Evan and from the Vikings Albert Young. I couldn’t find the party promoters so I don’t have the pixs.
One of my objectives of the night was to see what goes on in Philly on St Patrick’s Day, is everyone drinking green beer & wearing the green? No, some folks were just out because the night was beautiful and they were excited to break bread with their friends. The restaurants/bars that seemed the most crowded were one’s with sidewalk dining or outdoor space like APO, Rouge, Parc, Devon, Seafood Unlimited, D’Angelo’s, Snack Bar, Pub & Kitchen, and Meritage. So glad al fresco dining has emerged again.

SAMPAN FOR LUNCH WITH a notable sighting. Then a peek into McGillin’s on St Pat’s Day

IF Michael Schulson isn’t a big enough draw to get you to try lunch at SampanThen the menu should do the trick. 2 weeks ago I had the pork sandwich, which is much more than just pork but I don’t have the menu in front of me. Today I had the meatball sandwich on the recommendation of my waiter, who was overly efficient in refilling my Ice Tea, getting me napkins, cause I’m sloppy and well overall just giving great service to the 20 or so that didn’t head over to McGillin’s around the corner for St Patrick’s day. This complete meal was $7, that’s right sandwich, drink & chips (foobooz has a good review of lunch menu). But it’s cheaper than a meal at a vendor and all salad bar’s in the area. More tasty than Olive Garden’s Soup & Salad, & dare I saw the hamburger at Lucky Strike. Healthier than Philly Cup Cakes, and well cheaper than two of them.
Plus you might run into someone you admire like I did today. Well besides Matthew Vlahos, my lunch date. The notable food columnist Rick Nichols from the Philadelphia Inquirer. So nice of him to recognize me and come over and chat. Actually those things still blow my mind as I am a huge fan of his.

He’s got an event coming up that I Tweeted about a few weeks back.
Saturday Mar. 27 marks the first ever oyster shucking contest at the new raw bar and restaurant Oyster House in Philadelphia. The contest begins at 2 p.m. and will separate the boys from the men — or at least, the professionals and amateurs. Prizes will be awarded in both the professional and amateur categories with food writers Rick Nichols of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Kristen Henri of Grub Street Philadelphia judging.

Then I took a quick walk back to work passing McGillin‘s which was already packed to the gills. can’t wait to go after work and dive in. (Lot’s of police presence in the neighborhood.) Bars to hold the patrons in at McGillin’s

Cause it’s packed to the gills already at 3PM. Bummer I forgot to wear green
But this guy can take care of all my green envy.
although he does look like he’s peeing on the merchandise here.

Bon Voyage Terry Henson Kaymak as she embarks on her new life, as a new wife in Turkey with Barish.

No wonder I’m so sad today (even though I’m gonna hit a million readers on PCC today), I didn’t want to face it, but my friend Terry who went off and married herself a Turkish guy and is now moving to the big T to set up house. Terry and I were the traveling flunkies for our law firms.

She as an attorney me as a paralegal. When you are on projects across the country, as we were, it’s like being in the Big Brother House, you get to know each other in a very intense, wonderful way. Sometimes the projects last for days, weeks or like when I was in NYC for years. Oddly in the last 2 years Terry has only lived 2 blocks away, and I never really saw much of her cause I was creating all this – PhillyChitChat. I’ll miss her, but I’m so excited for her too as this is something she’s been talking about for years ever since she met Barish Kaymak. Last week a bunch of us gathered at the Irish Pub to bid adieu in a good way (Can u imagine how packed it’s gonna be today?) Terry with my co-worker/friend Elkan Katz. We all used to travel in and out of the City on document projects for various cases presented to us in the law field. Terry, Elkan and I spent many months in San Francisco working on a Silicon Valley case.
Her BFF’S Patricia Taggart, Terry, Holly and Collin Keefe. Colin and I are 1 degree from Jennie Hatton, as he used to work at Profile Pr.

Terry and Josh Snyder. Josh and I once worked on a project for 30 hrs straight. That was a memory I don’t hold dearly. For the past two years Terry has worked at the Boni & Zack firm. Terry worked for over 10 years at the Meridith Cohen firm which was located where the ballroom of the Kiptom’s Palamor Hotel currently resides. I spent a good deal of time at her law firm working on a case about sausages and learning that the description for the insides is called slurry, yum. Terry, Lee-Ann, Allyson and I spent a couple months in Tallahasse dealing with paper, then were joined by Gerri & Shirley to learn all about something else in Atlanta, thank god it slipped my mind. But Atlanta was nice.
Steve Asher, Terry, Rob Kitchenoff and Dan Allanoff. Rob and Steve used to work at my law firm years ago. My photos line the walls of their law office, and last year they used one of my photos as their holiday card.

CHIT CHAT PHILLY – A New Weekly Gossip Info Column

It’s St. Patrick’s Day this week and you know what that means, another excuse to get blotto, rowdy and risk getting arrested for public urination. One of my favorite places to visit on St. Patrick’s Day is McGillin’s on Drury Lane. Always a fun time. I probably eat lunch there 2 -3 xs a month. I love their burgers and free soup from 12 – 2PMKiss Me, I’m Irish and Gay III” will arrive in the city’s Gayborhood at Voyeur Nightclub, 1221 St. James St., 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 17, with $10 per person door admission, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Philadelphia FIGHT. For more information for Kiss Me, I’m Irish and Gay III, visit www.queertimes.net/Kiss_Me, or the event facebook page at
www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/event.php?eid=316402207031&ref=ts
Finally at the end of the week will Muldoon hold his last saloon for St. Patrick’s Day as he is retiring from the PVCB. For the 29th year, Tom Muldoon, president, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PCVB) and David Marshall, chairman, Amerimar Realty Company, will host Muldoon’s Saloon to benefit Project H.O.M.E. The event, which is open to the public, will draw local celebrities and hundreds of members of the hospitality community together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, feature Irish dancers and Irish food, and raise money for a great cause. The Boathouse, 210 Rittenhouse Sq. Phila (inside the Rittenhouse Hotel)
A few weeks back Vitamin10 sent me a case of their water to try out since I am trying to kick my diet soda habit. I love it, especially the mixed berry drink, but it isn’t exactly diet as the 20oz has 25 calories which is nothing to sneeze at. Then they sent me 6 bottles of their new drink Vitamin Zero, with Stevia. Surprisingly it’s a little sweeter, I especially like the Lemonade, AND it has Zero calories. It’s not on the shelves yet, but should be by April. And if you’re like me and want to find an alternative to soda (especially with the soda tax in place by then.) then you might want to try VitaminWater Zero. They’ll be phasing out VitaminWater10, which is sad to me cause I really like them too.
Charity Event Pick of the Week: Shut Up & Dance. Last year I photographed the after party, but this year my schedule allows me to check out the show too.
Last Friday, my friend Karen and I enjoyed a free lunch at Sampan to kick off their new lunch menu.
I had the delicious pork sandwich, only 9 and comes with chips.

A couple weeks ago I had a photo of Jordin Sparks in Us Magazine. Unfortunately it was in the Fashion Police section. They didn’t understand that she was wearing a lot of yellow as she was attending Alex’s Lemonade Charity Event. I would have written a letter but I didn’t know it appeared until a few weeks later:)
People always want to know how much I get for these photos. You would be surprised to know that a photo like this in a magazine is only worth $100. But the publicity it generates is worth much more, especially if the photo is taken with a step and repeat in the background.
Bad news for Buttercream cupcakes
PhillyCupCake tells me they are getting a truck like yours. (below are their new doggie cupcakes)
Here are their new nutter butter cookies. The good news is they are still over priced, so that can’t hurt you in too many markets. To tell you the truth I can’t really afford to go there anymore. Last week I spent $40 just bringing treats back for my co-workers and we still had to split the cupcakes so everyone of the 15 people could have a taste, and well that’s just ridiculous. (no I don’t get a discount for writing about them.)
Career Wardrobe is getting into the St. Patrick’s spirit.
zahra saeed is no longer located across from Rittenhouse Square. The sign says she has moved, but no details where. The website is still active, but not updated.
Cafe Loftus, a quiet place with free WIFI. It’s located on 15th Street between Chestnut & Walnut.
Good luck to my friend Terry Hansen Kaymak as she heads off to her new life with husband Barish, to his native land of Turkey. Here’s Terry and I at the Irish Pub last week.
Rain, rain go away. You’re killing all the umbrellas and good spirits
Apt for rent in my building, the Philadelphian. Studio’s are around 650 – 700 sq feet and include all utilities, and cable tv. We have balconies too.
And parties, lectures, discussion groups, A Little Pete’s, Klein’s Supermarket and a dry cleaners. Oh as well as a shuttle bus to take you into Center City. The Art Museum is across the street and so is Fairmount Park. It’s a great blding to live in.

Oscar Night in Philly is getting more exciting every year

Oscar Night in Philly is getting more exciting every year now that Traverse Arts Project has begun to throw their annual Oscar Gala. This year it was held at The Radison Warwick Hotel Philadelphia 1701 Locust Street,
Our hosts for the night were Mark Dahl and Desiree Hines, who looked faboo in her gold lame outfit. Both are from the Traverse Arts Project, which is unique in its organization. Each project is autonomous except in matters effecting the organization as a whole. We strive to create an organization that maximizes diversity and presents opportunity for participation by factions with different viewpoints.

The night began with a VIP Reception, which I missed, but it was there that Sandy Beach MC’d the local red carpet as Thom Cardwell and Matthew Ray tore up the Hollywood Celebrities as they made their way down their carpet. The New Miss’d America also performed. Price tickets ranged from $30 – $75, the latter included an open bar, but all who attended were treated to a light meal, red carpet photo and comfortable seating in the ballroom.
Angel Hardy, Brian M green (now I realize who he is, hi Brian), Shawn Collins Faulkner, Perry Monastero.
Marco Braeutigam and Mario Gonzalez found a nice quiet cornor of their own to enjoy the show.
Steve Cisowski, Steve McCann and Robert O’Neil This is the same ballroom where my sister was married, has and every democratic victory party I’ve been to has occurred here. It’s a very storied room. Nina Tinari’s parents live in the condo side of the building, Happy Birthday Nina.
Suzi Nash and Sada Nobule
John Stanley and Robert Drake. Catch WXPN’s DJ Robert Drake spinning at the after party for Sut Up & dance at Voyeur, if not there at his monthly themed gig for this month on April 2 – Sex Dwarf Bunny Hop!
– Don your best bunny ears and cotton tail as we celebrate the arrival of spring! If you don’t have bunny ears, have no fear – we’ll have some on hand! Prizes for the best bunnies of the night!

Miss Sandy Beach is having an amazing year already. First she resurrected the Miss’d America Pagent in Atlantic City. Got national press for it and has already got a date for next year.

Sandy Beach and Miss’d America 2010 (Scott Cooper)
Bob Sandy Beach has a monthly gig called “Pop” which plays at 8pm at the Adobe Cabaret 1919 E. Passyunk Ave
Katrina Rivera, Juan Vasquez and Kizzy Vasquez who run a video company who’s name I can’t read, but would love to put here, filmed a lot of the evening asking pertinent questions of each of the guests.
Johnana Crane and Jennifer Borland told me they heard about the party from reading PCC. That always makes me happy. In fact if you patronize something tell them you heard it from PCC. I know PhillyCupCake told me they had hundreds of peeps who read my blog. Bummer it still doesn’t get me a discount:( LOL
James Duggan and Thom Cardwell, principles of BuckMonkey events.
Bruce Allen and Michele Brodskey enjoyed the night getting all decked out.
The newly renovated hallway of the Warwick Hotel. I will be photographing it’s official grand re-opening later this week for the Radisson. So for those people who say I would go to the opening of an envelope, you’re right, and for the right price I’ll go cover the opening of a hallway too. (But it is much prettier with the bright colors, remember before it was dark everything, still glamorous, but dark.)
