Recently I re-connected with a high school friend on Facebook (gotta love that instead of going to reunions), Sandee Clark. Sandee and I met when we both performed in the high school play, Bye Bye Birdie, which is currently on Broadway right now with John Stamos. Did I ever mention I got an “A” in drama in college? Anywho Sandee was always the star and now is front and center at her salon Profomance Cuts, a race car themed salon at 193 S. Rt 73 (at Tauton Rd), West Berlin, NJ 08091 (856) 767-7004‎ Co-Owners Sandee Bengel and Marty Kulesza

Come see the race cars, meet the drivers and mascot, Bandit from Bridgeport Speedway. Proformance Cuts is now the proud sponsor of the outlaw street stock cars at the speedway. This event is open to the public.

Now offering Facial Waxing
We are an American Sign Language- friendly salon
Keep checking our group site for added updates
Bring your wristband from Bridgeport speedway and receive $2.00 off any haircut service at Proformance Cuts,
the Bridgeport Speedway mascot, Bandit ( a raccoon) will be making an appearance at the Salon open house as well as a few racing cars and drivers. We are having a show for the public, gift basket raffles to sponsor the Outlaw Stocks at Bridgeport Speedway cuz they don’t get a lot of funds. Proformance Cuts is their main sponsor, but we would like to help these guys get more sponsors for all of their hard work.

WHAT SOME PEOPLE DO ON A HOT NIGHT IN PHILADELPHIA, or Geez what’s worse Skateboarders in Love Park or Swimmers in Swann Fountain?

Why do we have police hanging out in Love Park preventing skateboarders from doing their thing, when I think it’s far more dangerous/destructive to have a person get injured via impalement or cracked head swimming in Swann Fountain?

Pit bulls in the fountainI guess he’s done lunges

I never knew there was a wading pool at the top of the fountain
A nice cool spot for a little shut eye
Hard Head

If you must swim in Swann Fountain, please don’t jump or dive?

REESE WITHERSPOON NOT ON THE SET, THEN A NIGHT OUT WITH PAUL RUDD, OWEN WILSON & THE CHARITABLE UTLEYS

I’m getting a lot of exercise chasing around the movie making trio around Philadelphia as they are a slippery bunch, even though they love sitting in the window at many of our local restaurants. Today, I went out to the set of the James L Brooks movie the other day, or more specifically where the trailers are kept, to try and get a photo of specifically Reese. This is not Reese, but a honest to goodness paparazzi shot of her assistant. I don’t pride myself on these shots, I like to be out in the open, but I had heard that openness was not the way to go with this production as it’s so top secret including the title.
They’ve hired a lot of top guns. In fact shortly after this picture some of them came over to intimidate me. I mentioned that I just wanted a couple shots of Reese anywhere, anytime and I wouldn’t photograph her til say after the leaves start changing colors after say 9/20. You see no one has gotten a decent shot of her. I’ve plenty of opportunities, but every time I ask she ignores me or turns her back (or it rains, or I am playing miniature golf somewhere in Jersey), I know, I shouldn’t ask anymore.

I also told her bodyguard that she really should take the kids to some of our great museums, especially The Please Touch Museum, The Franklin and The Academy of Natural Sciences. He looked at me perplexed, and I said I would never, ever photograph her kids, or her going to these places. I sincerely wish them a good stay and want to make sure they get to see all Philly has to offer. I should have mentioned Franklin Park too. (Since I hear her assistant reads my blog, Franklin Park for miniature golf, you’ll love it)
This is Reese’s trailer behind 3 fences.
Reese’s trailer. Everyone else has a Hadad trailer, she has a very upscale Movie Makers trailer. Sorta like a double wide deluxe.
These folks really don’t want their photos taken for the press, although I have heard that Reese & especially Paul Rudd have allowed fans/people to take their photos (which is really important in my book). I don’t think I will be going back to the set until perhaps October as all I really got was a mean ass sunburn on my head & this cool shot of the Cira Center. I wouldn’t recommend you going either as it would be a waste of time since no one seems very friendly. They only break for lunch, then it’s back into the armory never to be seen until after work that day. I would look for them to return to shooting in Center City in September as they are scouting locations. Most near City Hall, and as Dan Gross reported at Union Trust Sept 13. I will be in NYC shooting celebs that are more cooperative. This is an extra on the set. A friend of mine is filming this week, and although she’s in full make-up and costume, she has no idea what the scene is and they didn’t even call the extras in on her first day.
Wednesday Night Paul Rudd started off at Morimoto’s (thank you to my Tweepstir); to tell you the truth I wasn’t going to go down there to get his shot. I did tip off a friend who told me Paul closed the place, and posed for photos for him as he walked to his car.

Quite a big difference than Reese, who last week took a cab from the backdoor to the front door and her waiting car. I really don’t understand what the big deal is, they live in LA with paparazzi far more aggressive and unscrupulous than me. I at least try and ask. Now granted those photos I took the other day with her covering her face are not the norm for me. I do regret taking them.
It’s just I really thought that as I bargained with her, see Demi Moore’s shots last year, that she would drop the hands and allow me to get a shot so I wouldn’t bother with her for another month. She must know there are only two of us. I left my surveillance around 11PM and walked home. Around this time I started getting tips that Paul Rudd was at Parc. Hmm really how odd. Then someone tipped me that Owen was there. I still wasn’t interested in going back it was late and I had to process the photos from Jennifer Carroll’s Top Chef Screening Party at 10 Arts. Then at midnight I got the call, two of my favorite Philadelphian’s were at Parc. I hopped in my car and drove back. I though how awesome to get my two favorites in People or Us Mag with Owen Wilson or Paul Rudd. I’m thinking to myself, Owen was probably at the Phillies game with the rest of Philadelphia, since Rudd ate alone at Morimoto’s and now he’s having dinner with the First Lady of Baseball Jen Utley ( Utley’s All Star Animals Charity) and home run king of the night, Chase Utley (I received over 5 tips by the end of the night). Everyone stayed to the bitter end about 1:30AM
For me it was odd to be out there as I know Jen on more than a name basis and well it was just weird to be shooting her, but as a Philly “Paparazzi” and one that gathers news for Philly, it fell within the territory that I know people would report on and I just hoped they didn’t see me as I was a tad embarrassed to be doing this. Another awesome thing was while waiting for a cab Chase was greeted by fans, and he shook their hands as they wished him well. Sometimes I know I am very lucky to get to shoot/witness the things people seem to want to know about.
As for Owen and Paul… There were lots of fan flashes taken inside of Parc, so I mistakenly thought this was going to be my night.

But here’s Owen Wilson leaving, he literally dove in the car from the exit into the open door of his Prius (I’ve seen him do this exit before in NYC @ the nightclub Butter). That’s him in the checkered shirt. I was disgusted with this chain of events, with me trying to get these photos, to questioning why am I trying to get these photos, and I left. I did want to stay for a photo of Paul Rudd, especially since I had already shot his the previous week and he gave me a beautiful shot and I just didn’t want to bother him again. Well that was a mistake as my friend tells me Paul came out 45 minutes later (That part wasn’t the mistake, I would not have wanted to be there another 45 minutes later), Paul’s security guard opened an umbrella, I’ve seen this action before at Jack Nicholson’s trailer when it was located at City Hall. Anyway, when Paul exited his security detail put up an umbrella to block the shot, Paul says to the guy “what are you doing? We don’t need this drama!!” Pushes the umbrella out of the way and let’s the paparazzi get off a few shots.

Paul you’re fucking great the source told me. So Reese & Owen why the drama. These photos aren’t for me they’re for you fans, I’m not getting rich off of them, I am literally taking them so the fans that read about you everyday, see you. If you look on the blogs out there, they are recycling your photos, sometimes purporting them as current like last week when your shiner picture made the rounds again. Please let me get a couple photos and I will leave you alone for a month, I’d like to get some sleep.I did see Cole Hamels (The Hamels Foundation) walking his seriously adorable dog as I walked home about 11PM, so that was cool – LOL Of course when I took my focus off Parc that is when Jen, Chase, Owen & Paul walked into the place, so that sucked since I continued on my way home taking lots of pictures of the night scenes. Oh and I got a sugar free slurpee too. (I was a tiny bit bad as I did point out Cole to a group of 4 girls who had Phillies Jersey’s on. After the initial screams they calmed down and just watched him walk by like I asked) I hear it’s not a rare sight, but to me it was interesting as people have fan sites dedicated to him, wear his jersey and like all celebrities is really just like us. Here he is walking his pooch after work.
I wonder why I keep seeing all those smiling faces of Reese in the glossies week after week, I just want one of them to be from Philadelphia, it’s great PR and well I love getting that for our City.

But, right now I’m not a big fan of what I do right now, I don’t want Owen Wilson to have to dive in his car to avoid a shot from me, or Reese to have to bump into her bodyguard because she cant’ see where she’s going as she covers her face. Philly I might stop seeking these folks out, what do you think? I will always have the stories as folks are kind passing them along to me, thanks.

NBC 10 BE A TEN IN TEN WEEKS WITH FUSION CROSS TRAINING – Week 10 THE FINAL WEEK

This week concludes the Be a Ten in Ten weeks program with NBC10 & Fusion Cross Training. It was hard as hell, my body constantly ached, but 10 weeks later I dropped 17lbs and I feel awesome. For the most part the challenge was just showing up, secondly no matter how much you work out if you don’t track your food AND eat healthy, all those workouts aren’t going to matter too much, finally you have to want it, and trust me when you start losing those first few pounds you do get much more motivated. So please do it for yourself, you don’t have to go to a gym, you could go for a walk, climb some stairs and begin to eat healthier and you will see results.
Last week we had the wrap up party for the “10 in 10 Challege” at Valanni’s on Spruce Street. Lauren Albert, Kirsty Halliday & Chip Capelli; Chip lost over 35lbs in boot camp over the past 10 weeks, 17lbs just on vacation when he was in Provincetown – WOW (Ok bedtime for me its 2AM, I will fill this in more tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in)
Justin Pizzi & the sweet Aditi Roy.
Me. I lost 17lbs and I feel great. Thanks everyone for your support. I will be continuing the program and write bi-weekly updates. This week, I took off the entire 7 days. This morning I will be returning to the gym
George Waldron, Nicole Michalik today says [I’m so] bruised from the gym, I feel like I’m back in Biggest Loser world! No pain, no gain?, Justin & the great videographer Brad Berner
Part of the “Rack Pack” Megan Smith of Brownstone PR, with Brad Berner & Justin Pizzi.
Michael Short, Nicole and Joseph Matthews, http://www.matthewsinteriordesign.com/
Sara Finne & Christine Stern
We finished and it was great….Check out the final stats HERE Plus the final video that is airing this week on TV. (I don’t know what measuring tape they are using, but I do not have a 55 inch waist, at least that’s not what my dress pants tag says. [although it does say we give you an extra secret inch]) Thanks a lot to all the Fusion Coaches, to the NBC !0 gang, Gavin McKay, Justin Pizzi and Brad Berner for an awesome editing job week after week, it’s not his fault the camera added 100 lbs. Scroll down for more scoop…
On a side not a lot of credit needs to go to Justin Pizzi for coming up with this idea. After gaining a few pounds he started going to Fusion Cross Training and started seeing results and thought maybe he could inspire people to take their fitness and health more seriously.

Yesterday I randomly ran into him on the street after he had left one of the coaching classes at Fusion. I think he’s achieved his fitness goals.

The Phillies come out in force to support the Fourth Annual Jimmy Rollins Celebrity BaseBowl Tournament

Thankfully people tip me off to events because it is almost impossible to for me to get on the Phillie’s media list. If anyone has any connections I really would like to be put on a media list so I can promote the Phillies events with out them slipping by. I enjoy seeing the fans interact with their heroes and visa versa. (Also thanks to the two people who tipped me off yesterday to the two R’s, Renee & Reese. I really appreciate it. HughE)

Yesterday I went to Lucky Strikes, and lucky for me it was across from where I work, to support the Philadelphia Phillies’ 2007 NL MVP and 3-time All-Star shortstop Jimmy Rollins will host the Fourth Annual Jimmy Rollins Celebrity BaseBowl Tournament Rollins and other members of the World Champion Phillies as well as other feature athletes, sports personalities and entertainers will team up with executives and Phillies fans to raise money for the Rollins Family Foundation and The Arthritis Foundation. There was a silent auction where you could purchase trips, dinners and lot of sport memorabilia like this Kobe Bryant signed Lakers jersey
The turn out was overwhelming, especially if you were me and haven’t lost enough weigh on the insert plug here] NBC10 Be a Ten in Ten Weeks – Fusion Cross Training Challenge. Tomorrow is the results show on NBC10 @ 6:45AM, or Thurs 4pm or Sunday @ 11PM. Anyway so it was hard for me to navigate this baby, but awesome for the charity and it’s supporters to have so many guest turn out.
It’s always nice to be recognized by readers, especially these two nice girls Sarah Casey & Kate McAdam of Maven Communications.
Dwight Howard’s size 17 signed sneakers
Mia Tinari & Dave Fisher engaged to be married.
A lot of talent came out to support Jimmy’s foundation, can you name a few
The new Phillie Cliff Lee More auction items. Although I didn’t see Ryan Howard, I did see his shirt.
Jayson Werth who didn’t play but did come as to be the cheering section (He’s got his World Championship ring on)
Before the start of the games there was a nice tribute to Harry Kalas

Surprisingly this Cowboy’s Roy Williams signed helmet didn’t do so wellMitch Williams and his “girl”, Mitch told me. Someone else mentioned that it was his daughter. (Sure at first I thought maybe it was his wife/girlfriend)star
The Championship Trophy arrives. I wonder if this guy realizes that he is holding the dream of a million or so people.
Phillie’s Ball Girls Debbie & Kelli
Mike Jerrick returned to Fox 29, co-anchoring “Good Day Philadelphia” and starting reporting again, on July 27, 2009; Hopefully after his stint in NYC he can bring down a few more A-Listers that he has interviewed over at Fox NYC and his own national morning show. Although then PCC will have to wake up extra early to make it to their stage door. I hear that when Jose Conseco was in town a few weeks back, he brought an entourage of 60 people. Crazy. Last week when Linda Hogan came by it was just her and one handler.
Guest, Jimmy Rollins and board member Nina Tinari, who jetted off to San Francisco right after this event.
The Phillies Phanatic looks like he’s found a few friends.
Maybe one of those friends purchased the mini version signed by Jimmy Rollins.

Not sure who this is. After this event I covered the Taste of Philly, which I will be posting tomorrow. Then I got a tip about Reese Witherspoon eating at Parc and ran over there just to have her put her hand over her face. So irritating. If I got one decent shot of her I wouldn’t bother her for the next couple weeks. ugg
Chase Utley was on to playand if you wanted to you could bid on a Chase Utley signed bat

Sweet Ending. Go Phillies and thanks to all of you who turned out to support:The Jimmy Rollins BaseBowl Event provides an entertaining event to raise funds and awareness for the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and the Rollins Family Foundation. RENEE ZELLWEGER & BRADLEY COOPER WERE JUST SPOTTED IN PHILADELPHIA

getting coffee at Starbucks on Walnut Street. I wonder if Bradley is in town to see his friend Paul Rudd (starring with Reese Witherspoon & Owen Wilson in that unnamed James L Brooks movie), as Paul & Bradley starred in
Three Days of Rain on Broadway with Julia Roberts back in April 2006 where I shot the above photograph. Bradley is as nice as Paul. Renee a little ditzy, but sweet as can be.
Thank you to my tipster. Then I called the Starbucks to verify, but they had left 30 minutes beforehand. Please tip me off to sightings tonight buzz @ PhillyChitChat. com I will promise you photos of them, plus future photos without my logo of you when I shoot you at events. & a gift bag from my next event. RESTAURANT TIDBITS, RUMORS & SPECULATION

The Spot moved from Juniper to make room for a parking garage and is now located at 12th & Chestnut. It’s just opened for breakfast and lunch. It’s quick, I wish they would clean their windows a little more, but it’s a great place to sit and people watch especially… and now he has company

Zack’s is opening right next door with a similar menu; brand spanking new tables & chairs with a lot more room to maneuver.
The Oceanaire Menu is still up at 7th & Walnut, will the Cheesecake Factory Menu replace it? I know it’s just a rumor, but now that 3 people have told me does it make it fact? In Michael Klein’s column this week, he says the CF folks say they are not coming into the City as there is not enough parking. I guess now that PhillyBlog.com no longer exists they haven’t read the “their are too many parking garage complaint message board.”
STOGIES ON EAST PASSYUNK LOOKS LIKE A HOLE IN THE WALL. I hear those are the best places to eat. I didn’t get real close as I was running late to attend a function at Jimmy Style, but do they have electricity or do you eat by the sunlight? I loved how their chalkboard sign was about 5 feet from the curb into the street.Michelle Obama came to town last week. Someone had told me beforehand, but couldn’t tell me the itinerary and I forgot to follow up with questions later in the week. Witness’ say the motorcade was impressive and the last car had machine guns out of the trunk. Is that true? After stopping at The Betsy Ross House, Isaiah Zagar Mosaic Garden the trio stopped by Capogiro (she too was sworn to secrecy as the secret service stopped by about 30 minutes before the First Lady) for something refreshing. Michelle enjoyed a Chocolate Banana with Dark Chocolate Gelato, which is now the flavor of the week.
Across the street I’m waiting for Zavino’s to begin their construction. I’ve seen the renderings and they are impressive, very woodsy, a very long bar, windows that open out on 13th street, similar scale as my fav place Varga Bar, outdoor seating that is inviting, glass awnings, swanky, classy, upscale with surprisingly a lot of seating inside too. I was surprised the Check Cashing place vacated as I had heard they had a loooonnnngggg term lease. Glad to see them go. They left a souvenir

and it’s on the side of the building in case you want it for your dorm room. The new IHop @ Juniper & Walnut Streets. Please IHop can’t you open before I go back on my restricted diet. Originally scheduled to open on August 15, IHop is now scheduled to open in 2 weeks on Friday 8/28, but will begin serving on August 25. In the theater world we call that the preview. OPENED ON 8/21
Have a safe great weekend.

NICOLE MILLER PHILADELPHIA CELEBRATES KATY PERRY’S COSMOPOLITAN COVER

Last night I stopped by Mary Dougherty’s Nicole Miller shop at the Bellevue to help celebrate Katy Perry landing the most coveted spot on Cosmo for the month of August, wearing a new Nicole Miller design.
***Interesting note a source told me that Nicole Miller does not make this dress in that shade of purple, the folks at Cosmo digitally changed the colored of the dress for the cover. Don’t fret though, Nicole Miller is highly suggestible and agrees that this is a great color for the dress and is working on releasing a violet silk Dupioni version with the exposed front zipper in early October to meet the demands of girls that want the “Katy Perry” dress and just in time for the holiday parties. (Dupioni sometimes known as dupion or douppioni, silk dupioni is a shimmering silk that is created by weaving silk threads of two different vibrant colors into a weave that seems to change colors as the silk is moved around in different lights.)Recently I caught a Twitter by Katy Perry speaking about her cover shoot: “I was never allowed 2 buy this mag cuz the covers always showed 2much bubbie. Thank God I can now show mine to ur child that’s not allowed 2 c it in the grocery store isle.”

Mia Colona and Sarah Stapleton show off two variations of the dress in the original cobalt color, which I personally love as cobalt is my favorite color. These dresses retail between $420 & $500 available 8/31/09 same day as the Whitney Houston CD drops.Megan, Mary Dougherty and Jillian Dunn looking fashionably happy and why not the economy is picking up, and in a few short weeks they will be headed up to Bryant Park to catch the new Spring 2010 Nicole Miller NY Fashion Show line. I plan to hook up with them for a behind the scenes look at Nicole Miller’s upcoming fashions and of course the show.
A nice crowd came out for the celebration, which continues tonight at Nicole Miller Manayunk – 4249 Main Street – 5-8pm; If you look closely, real closely you can catch the head of the City Paper’s Meal Ticket’s Drew Lazor, who stopped by with his girlfriend to check out the scene.Ellen Gregory and Sally Yuan. Alma de Cuba provided snacks for the guests. As for Reese Witherspoon all they would tell me is she’s a repeat visitor and she gets the same dish repeatedly. Another guest told me that she’s seen Owen riding her bike around Drexel’s Campus, and last Tuesday rented out the stadium so he could ride it in peace without all the sports teams working out at the same time. She gave me the times and locations of repeated sightings, so I when I finally make it over to the film shoot I will have a goal in mind.
Stephanie Ragg and Leigh Ann Barnes. Stephanie is interning at Nicole Miller’s this summer and will be graduating from U of P this year. Her major is communications and she’s looking to get into the PR field, so all you PR firms she’s looking for a job and she’s a smarty.
Looks like another beauty will be wearing Nicole Miller this season.
Nicole Miller also has men’s accesories, I own a beautiful Nicole Miller tie with camera’s on it. I wore it to the party, and at a party I attended afterwards and everyone loved it and wanted to know where I got it.
Nicole Miller always has accesories for the ladies tooThere was a make-up artist to give you tips on applying your face as well as the best colors for you and your skin.Jamie Dranoff and Sarah Alford stopped by
as did the stylish Natasha Torrence and Asha Banks. Asha tells me she created her own fashion sense shopping at Burlington Coat Factory, and Nine West did the shoes.
ADRIAN HARDY of Gruve Diggers (he spins ALL over the city- Marmount, Ladder 15, Vango, Denim..
For you ladies that love Nicole Miller, but your budget just can’t fit it in right now, don’t fret I saw a Sale rack with dresses marked 50% – 75% off. What are you waiting for?
Tonight you can catch another Nicole Miller celebrates Katy Perry’s cover at Mary Dougherty’s other store in Manyunk 4249 Main Street – 5-8pm -NEVER BEFORE SEEN NEW YORK SHOWROOM SAMPLES!!!! HOT OFF THE RUNWAY & AVAILABLE TO BUY!!!

HOLIDATE, CELEBRATE, IF WE TOOK A HOLIDAY

Don’t Tell Gavin, but to celebrate the end of NBC10/Fusion Cross Training “Be a Ten in Ten Weeks” Mike and I went to Geno’s for a Wiz Wit.
It seemed to be date night at Geno’s (He’s got a nice manicure, er pedicure I mean, but those shoes are beat)Holidate Night. Yes that “reality show”which has been filming at restaurant locations all over the City. It’s based on the movie with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet where they switch locations to meet a man, in their case countries, in the case of the women on “Holidate” bi-coastal cities. Produced by Disney/ABC for SoapNet, Holidate is premiered last week on the cable network.
Holidate is a reality special that takes two women who are looking for love but having no luck with the suitors in their individual cities and transports them into each others lives. The women will temporarily trade homes, spend time in each other’s cities and date the men in each other’s lives. They’ll be able to communicate with each other throughout the journey.A little instruction
and their off
Last month I attended the taping of an episode at Union Trust. Since I was there with Matthew Vlahos, PR for Union Trust, and Jimmy Contreras for my birthday dinner I didn’t take many photos, but I did get to see how the shoot went and got a glimmer at the “dates” and the work that goes into a production such as this. (Thanks to the Pennsylvania film Office for those tax credits, even these productions benefit so they bring biz and dollars to you.)
Update: I’ve just been informed that this is a different girl, she likes cheesesteaks and is into this guy. but a new guy. (and much cuter I must add, personal opinion here that’s why there’s vanilla & chocolate)
Everything seemed normal at Geno’s
and business was brisk without any mention of what they were filming, over and over and over again. At one point I heard her say to him that she loved her sandwich (I guess they weren’t greasy), in which he replied I wish there were more hot peppers, and voila! for the next taping a PA had placed more peppers in his sandwhich.
life went on as usual around them as folks order wiz wits, and wiz wit outs and just wits; From what I overheard they were really into their date. Having just finished a “reality show”, I can say you really do forget the camera, although I tried to measure my words, especially avoiding those curse words when doing pushups. At one point she offers him a bite of her sandwhich (I saw them both eat two during the taping, sounds like a benefit)
As the two walked off in the neon light of the Italian Market I thought to myself they’ve been to Union Trust, to The Waterworks, now to Geno’s how about going to Franklin Square, having a square burger then a little miniture golf. Perhaps a walking tour of the Avenue of the Arts, or the Footsteps of Ben Franklin , any one of our museums, and then there’s my favorite go to the top of City Hall Rm 121, get a timed ticked and check out the view of the City. Check out GPTMC for a list of fun things to do in the City or check out the off the beaten track sites.
Cut, that’s a wrap.
Watch for the ABC/Soap Channel for upcoming episodes, or check them out here: http://www.yidio.com/show/holidate
