Meet Bugsy Drake from Bravo TV’s Below Deck this Weekend at the Philly Home Show

Last week I attended the Philly Home Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. It was thrilling on a couple levels: to be out again at a large trade show, surrounded by potential products which could bring such happiness to my life.

If only I had hardwood floors, I would have picked this up. I am fascinated by sales people. They are extroverted, engaging and convincing. It was such a bargain I was thinking as I walked away, there must be someone I know who needs this, but it’s so hard to wrap I thought.

Not surprisingly I found so many interesting products I would need. Soon I will be growing these flowers on my terrace.

in one of these Vegepod USA. It’s perfect for your backyard too, as the netting keeps out deer they tell me
Jeffrey Sidelsky was spotted on the first day

as was my husband Mike, who picked up the Vitamix Pro before the end of the day. I’m looking forward to a delicious breakfast with a straw among other delights.

Bugsy Drake says know the plants you are planting and understand the climate… know the size they will grow to ensure it fits your garden aesthetically. Draw up a mapped out plan and create a vision board to get an idea of exactly what it will look like. Incorporate pops of color… it’s so important to have color in your life… make sure the look suits the type of house you have. Where I come from, having an indigenous garden is a big thing but it’s also nice to incorporate some exotics in your garden. Just like a tablescape… play with different textures, colors and heights. It is also satisfying to grow plants and flowers that you can bring into your home.

Golden Globe Gowns For Affordable Prices at David’s Bridal, Plus Winter Sales at Nicole Miller and Sophy Curson

Good Monday Morning. Hope you had a great weekend. I’m working on my PhillyMag column regarding a fun party I went to on Friday night at Stratus Lounge. Besides being a fabulous party, I noticed that Stratus Lounge has tented over the entire rooftop lounge & it’s heated. This is a game changer and will definitely help the winter doldrums for a bar that celebrates the great outdoors.

David’s Bridal sent me a press release matching gowns they have with some of the gowns worn on the red carpet at the Golden Globes last night. Last night’s Golden Globes produced some
show-stopping fashion moments. Below are some of the head turning red
carpet lookalikes that are both on-point and on-trend for your award
show fashion coverage. (you can click on the photos to make them larger.)
Whether you’re looking
for a classic black gown like Amal Clooney’s red carpet stunner,

craving
to achieve the shimmering style of stars like Reese Witherspoon

or
trying to emulate the red carpet aisle style of Salma Hayek’s ivory ball
gown,

Just like the Red Carpet season has begun nationally, the same goes for the Philadelphia area as well. The Hair of the Dog is next week, then it’s the Academy Ball, The Auto Show’s Black Tie Tailgate and before you know it the Philadelphia Flower Show gala. Another favorite place to shop, is holding their most fabulous sale of the year, Nicole Miller Philadelphia.

One last fashion fun, I spotted this cape at

Sophy Curson: Fine Clothing For Women

19th & Sansom Street

Kinda cute, and they’re having a nice sale too.

THE HERREMANS FOUNDATION AND DICK’S SPORTING GOODS HOST SHOPPING EVENT FOR KIDS

I really wanted to go to this, but I was covering the Philly Style Magazine party, which I will be writing about on Monday. Tune in to see what people wore, and what they told me, especially Carl Dranoff.

The Todd Herremans Foundation recently hosted
members of Leprechaun Sports Association of Philadelphia at DICK’S
Sporting Goods. Eagles players Todd Herremans, Jason Kelce and Mark
Sanchez
served as “Shopping Consultants” and surprised the kids with
$100 shopping sprees from the Herremans Foundation as they shopped for
winter coats, gloves, boots and other cold-weather gear.

Todd Herremans and the kids. I like those shamrocks on the sleeves. I think this would be a good St Patrick’s Day look. (It’s only 10 weeks away)

“It’s a great feeling to provide underserved
children with a chance to get the cold-winter gear they need, as well as
some other great things from DICK’S,” said Herremans. “I’m really
thankful for (Jason) Kelce and Mark (Sanchez) to take time out of their
busy schedules to help spread some holiday cheer.”

The kids enjoyed a Chik-Fi-Let lunch, and who wouldn’t.
