I wish I hadn’t sent a wretched photo of Lindsay Lohan to my agency as Perez Hilton bought it and posted it with unkind thoughts regarding Lindsay. I’ve photographed Lilo more than a dozen times in the past years, and she has never looked better. I hope she finds her way….I took this photo at the opening of the Matthew Williams Store Opening on Sunday.
But I would recommend she drop Sam Ronson before she kills Lindsay or Lilo kills her.

Back from Fashion Week. It was definitely one of the most successful periods I have had both personally and professionally. I hadn’t been there in about 4 months, and it was great to see a lot of my friends in the business as that just doesn’t exist in Philly. As soon as I arrived on Thursday I began my intense shooting of celebs (amfAR with liza Minnelli) until Tuesday at 8PM when I took my last shot of Leonaro DiCaprio attending the Georgio Armani Store Opening on 5th Avenue.Often times people ask me why I photograph the same folks in Philly, but it’s really no different than the same people that appear week after week in the glossies, or daily on celebrity blogs; One day I asked my friends why they needed to photograph Lindsay Lohan again, it was because she changed her outfit from a fashion show she attended to her shopping outfit, then later her party outfit. Although LiLo isn’t doing so hot professionally, her photo still moves.This is one of the shots as even the most seasoned photographers overlooked as a non-event. I was just in the right place at the right time and stubled upon it, the Mathew Williamson Store Opening Parties. We were all really surprised that Lindsay Lohan was there as she was scheduled to be in Miami with her girlfriend Sam Ronson that night, but it seems they had a fight the night before and Sam flew back to LA and Lindsay went out partying, ending the night at Chace Crawford’s house, as my friend Vincent caught for TMZ and is now making big time news.

John Mayer at the Armani Store Opening Party. Store Openings are always a good time with a lot of ecelectic people invited. You can always expect the “Face of that Product” to show up, and many of the other people who get free clothes from the fashion house. Armani is an elite brand and the party was reserved for elite guests, Paris, Aubrey nor Nicole Ritchie could be found here.

My best shot of the week, definitely of the year, and perhaps of my career was this one as I was one of three photographers to snap this photo of Victoria Beckham arriving from London last Friday. I later learned that a lot of the photographers were waiting for Kim Kardashian’s plane to arrive, in another terminal, they were besides themselves when this shot went up on the photo pages.
We were driving around after the Charlotte Ronson show and came upon Lindsay Lohan shopping at Blue & Cream. There were already 2 photographers waiting for her to come out of the store. Her driver told us to be patient and polite and we would be able to get our shots. I was happy with the shots I got.

Usually the night before Fashion Week begins, there are a flurry of parties. This year “because of the economy” all the bigwigs seemed to pull back and the only choice was amfAR annual event. A lot of my friends never cover events like this as it’s a “Broadway”, B-list event. I enjoy these people.
Gerard Butler, who wasn’t recognized by anyone until I started asking him questions about his stay in Philadelphia. Then the girls began to swoon.

Gossip Girls Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo arriving for the Mercedes-Benz IMG New York Fashion Week Fall 2009 – Diane von Furstenberg Show. The two girls were also filming a scene from the gossip girl so look for me playing a “paparazzi” in an upcoming episode.

I’m exhausted, but ready to return to photographing my Philadelphia Celebrities. On that note, a lot of the folks in NYC had heard of my success and congratulated me, which was great. Word gets around I guess. I’m very fortunate to have forged so many great friendships with these photographers, because as you can imagine they are competitive group, not fond of outsiders (meaning not from NYC) and I truly wouldn’t be as successful if they didn’t help me out with tips and their friendship – Thanks and I’ll see you in April for the Tribeca Film Festival.

Here I am in NYC for Fall 2009 Fashion Week. Got a lazy start as I arrived about 4PM to pick up my credentials, then attempted to make it to the Letterman Show to shoot the departing Jonas Brothers. No such luck as I just missed them, it’s ok as today I am credentialed to shoot them at a taping of the CBS Morning Show at Noon, right after I leave the tents and the Red Heart Fashion Show. Don’t get me started, so irritating, I put in for that in Mid-January, (amfAR New York Gala to Kick Off Fall 2009 Fashion Week at Cipriani on 42nd Street- Outside Model Doutzen Kroes )

wrote them today to ask what was up with everything, and they tell me they didn’t get my email in Jan, even though I attached it, and the list is closed as I didn’t get my Secret Service clearance, but I had one for Laura Bush, and I didn’t vote for her husband. Ugg so I will shoot the folks going in, of course that is at 8AM and if I really can make that, even though its 4AM now, that means I have no excuse when I can’t make the gym before work. (Vogue Editor – The Devil Wears Prada lady herself – Anna Wintour. Shocking she smiled for me.)

Donna Karan. Last time I saw Ms. Karan back in October, she had just gotten a new face for her 60th birthday, now she’s gone and got a new body. I told her she looked fabulous, which she does, the best money can buy.Rachel Zoe girl, you are a stylist give it up for the paparazzi especially since your career is tanking. I had no idea she was married, she keeps this one in the closet, and trust me someone said they think he is in the closet. Never the less he gave me a great smile, considering Rachel turned her head. Guess she doesn’t want to end up on Perez Hilton.com drooling (Sorry Ms Zoe I have no control where my photos are picked up!)

Natasha Richardson, always sweet, unfortunately for us both the crazy fan who calls her her “British Mom” was there, so no one got good departure shots. I did get a few photos of the crazy fan trying to get a hug as Natasha ran to her car. I often want to ask Natasha what in the world does she think of this girl and her devotion. Natasha often keeps the girl happy by acknowledging her by saying hi Karen, so she is aware.

It’s Liza with an A, not Lisa with a S cause Lisa with an s goes sssss not zzz and then a double nn or my friend David, who turned me on to Liza a million years ago, will leave me a nasty comment. I actually got a lot of excellent shots of Liza, as I LOVE her, it’s in my gay genes. I feel guilty I didn’t come up to see her show, I did see it in AC over the summer thought. Ben Gazarra is the first celebrity I remember seeing in my life. I was working at Bookbinders 15th Street and he was eating dinner there. I was so besides myself I almost dropped a tray of dishes on him. Oh how times have changed, I think only the sight of Madonna could do that to me now.

Last Sunday I dragged myself out of bed, as the night b4 was the Union Trust opening, on the advice of my friend G-N Kang, who now that I think I bid adieu at about 2AM at the 1 Yr Anniversary party of the G Lounge, she must have been more tired than me, this is a long run on sentence how do I get rid of this underlining. Anyway it was Wired 96.5’s Fashion Affair

at the Curtis Center across from Washington Sq Park. When I walked into the familiar office building I was blown away first by the spread

catered by Cescaphe ballroom in Northern Liberties. The food was so incredibly delicious, I immediately wanted to call a dozen friends to meet me in the lobby of the Curtis Center in the shadow of the beautiful Dream Garden, which was saved a few years ago from being sold to one of the casinos in Las Vegas.

Shortly after I arrived I ran into Jack & Jill’s Boutique’s owner Anh Nguyen (r) and her friend. Today’s show would feature a lot of the clothes that can be found at [insert plug] Jack & Jill Boutique – 115 South 22nd Street, Phila T: 215.568.0202 As I continued down the hall I was completely blown away by the transformation of the hallways that lead to the elevators and to the main lobby, which is beautiful in it’s on right.

but was just WOWee WOWee when I saw it’s transformation. And thought I have to call my friends to see this, wait I have a blog, hey we need to throw more parties here it’s beautiful and many of the folks I spoke with describe it as South Beach influenced here in Philadelphia. I think Arthur’s dad was rightLightly effervescent and fruity without being cloying, Nuvo was easy to drink and refreshing. Andrea Jackson and Pam Woodland enjoy a little nip.

Great fun shooting this fashion show, and good practice as I travel to NYC this afternoon to begin a 6 day shoot of Fashion Week. I will still be blogging Philly as I prepared ahead, but there’s a good chance I will be interjected a few celebrities & stories as I photograph them per event. Fashion Week starts on Friday, but the best parties are always the night before. Once I bagged Pam Anderson, I don’t think she’s been back to NYC since that night 2 years ago. Last year I found a Marc Jacobs party, I brought my friend Luisa, Simon and Demis and we were the only ones shooting celeb after celeb. I wish there had been more PR on this event, it was a real winner. Next year as soon as I hear about it it will go up on the PhillyChitChat calender, which by the way is at the top of your page on the right. I have added a lot of events and will populating it more in the coming weeks.

Chifa is a term used in Peru to refer to a style of food produced by the fusion of creole Limean food with Chinese food brought by Chinese immigrants mainly from the province of Canton in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As I walked into Chifa with Mike I found myself in a fun, sedate, comfortable space, a little hideaway. In fact Chifa has a lot of little hideaways like the tables in this back dining area on the right and left of the door. Each cubicle contains a family style table separated by the main dining area by tiny beads that offer just enough privacy while also allowing the guests to see what’s going on in the main room.
The investors should be very excited about thier new venture Kim, Mike, Eugene, Ed, Jeff and JeanieI wish I had photographed the lounge in a softer light so you could enjoy the soft blues. What I did find interesting were these fans on the ceiling, they looked just like table fans. Also I really loved the wooden shutters lining the right side of the wall

food was plentiful and tasty. I especially enjoyed Peruvian Cervicheand the company of Jimmy Contreas, Andi Pesacov, Maria Quattorne and Matthew Vlahos
as well as these delicious creamy chocolate candies with an edible gold leaf
Downstairs I found another comfy quiet place to get away, listen to music, grab a cocktail and gab with friends.It was here that I found Dana Spain and good friend, Steve Rockman, Zoltan and Diana Kerekes enjoying the delicious food and ambiance.One of the highlights were these Shrimp Anticuchos which seemed to flow throughout the evening, but it really was enjoyable to chat with Steve and Dana, who we last saw on the social scene at the Donna Coghlan Girl’s Night Out at Table 31. Dana tells us that she went to the Philly Auto Show last week and fell in love with a few beauties. Other favorites included Oyster Cerviche, Conchitas, Empanada and this delicious crunchy Caramel pop corn which will accompany the Root Bear Float and a dash of vanilla ice cream.

The space is on a block that’s becoming a restaurant row. It has two Starr restaurants: Jones, at 700 Chestnut, and Morimoto, at 723 Chestnut. Also opening on that block next month will be Union Trust Steakhouse, at 717 Chestnut. The block also includes Las Vegas Lounge, Kibitz in the City, El Azteca II Mexican, Aqua Malaysian & Thai Restaurant. “That corridor is going beyond a restaurant row. It’s a restaurant headquarters,” Garces said. “It’s exciting and it’s good for the city.”

LATIN SUPERSTAR CHEF JOSE GARCES ANNOUNCES THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF CHIFA, HIS PERUVIAN-CANTONESE RESTAURANT

Yesterday, February 10, 2009 at 5 p.m., Latin superstar Chef Jose Garces will debuted his fourth Philadelphia restaurant, Chifa (707 Chestnut Street, 215-925-5555), named after the unique hybrid of Peruvian and Cantonese cuisines found in Peru.

Saturday night was the VIP Opening Night of the long anticipated Union Trust Philadelphia Steakhouse (Reservation info at the end of Entry)and the stars were shining bright, but first they had to get through the list checkers including birthday girl Jennifer Karwoski; tonight at Valanni’s there is going to be a special Quizzo Happy Birthday party for Jennifer, if you haven’t been to Jennifer’s Quizzo night at Valanni’s well you just haven’t done Quizzo right. (Deja Vu – I have more to say)but these two made the cut, Tony Rufo and Lindsay Kravitz. When reviewing the photos I realized I just had to show this fashion shot. This party was all about fashion, Philly is really turning it out with the style lately. It’s good to see, I had no idea all this excitement was happening in the City.

On Saturday, local restaurateurs Ed Doherty and Terry “TW” White unveiled Philadelphia’s much-anticipated Union Trust Steakhouse with a red carpet opening gala. The party came after more than $12 million in renovations to the historic 717 Chestnut Street bank building over the last year. (I stopped by the night before to do a walk through and was just blown away by the design and decor, and the overnight crew preparing the lastest steakhouse for the blow out party the next day.)
Union Trust, like several of the other new steakhouses, was one time a bank building. Designed by DAS Architects, UT will take advantage of the high ceilings in the former Jack Kellmer jewelers at 717 Chestnut St.

those waiting in line, sometimes up to 30 minutes to get inside. Union Trust was definitely one of the highly anticipated restaurants to open in a long time along the new “restaurant row” in Philadelphia.
OK, ok I get alot of ribbing, some people write me and say what’s with the Sabrina Tamburino coverage, she’s engaged just let her go, her heart belongs to someone else. Well what better way for me to stay close to the one I love then to photograph them, and what camera doesn’t love these two. Steve Thorne and Sabrina Tamburino one of my favorite couples. So much fun and full of life. I’m just hoping they fall in love with me too and take me to St. Barts one day.

Mariska Bogle and Sean Reilly who was recently profiled in the Philadelphia Biz Journal With soaring 65-foot ceilings, more than 18,000 bottles of wine and dining rooms appointed with polished marble, rich leather and precious metals. I loved the plush red booths, with matching red leather tables, which if I heard right won’t need table clothes, just a wipe and a polish. I love the high backs that hug your body, create a bit of intimacy especially sharing that language of love, red is more than just a color.

assembling an all-star team of top chefs, managers, wine consultants and
sommeliers, and nearly 150 bartenders, wait staff and hostesses. They spent
the last two weeks in an intensive customer service “boot camp,” before
finally donning the restaurant’s signature suits from local retailer Boyd’s.
The high-end design is a tribute to the
building’s roots; designed by architect Paul Philippe Cret, it once served
as The Union Trust Company Bank. The menu includes famed Allen Brothers’
prime meats, and items such as Union Trust’s signature steaks will be
prepared in Montague broilers. For a more casual experience, the restaurant

Fashion – Up with Phillylounges.com at Pearl, Saturday Jan 31st for an exclusive pampering from fashion to the best mash-up music in the country. Downstairs the girls get made up among the cans of tomato juice and boxes of holiday decorations in preparation for the big Fashion Up show which
had good PR as it seemed that all the media/photog players were in the house including me, PCC; the runway was set up in the restaurant area – AKOYA, which is surprisingly spacious when the tables are removedAnd then it began, but there was no announcement so if I didn’t know the people involved, I wouldn’t have known that it was Jack & Jill Boutique The women’s line was also showcased in springs hues such as lilacs, pale orange, whites, and blues ,and greens. All very flowly and feminine.

Jack & Jill’s men’s line in our Spring/ Resort collection featured some of the soft baby hues for this season… a lot of plaid and striped detailing in powdery hues that reminds you of those spring days. We also showed some edgier looks with military style detailing that is popular on the runway. Our designer jeans are always about comfort! Jeans should be comfortable yet stylish, so we have brands that represent them such as: William Rast – a new line from Justin Timberlake (Did I mention I will be shooting this show 2/17), Energie, 7 Diamonds, which was all shown on the runway for the men’s collection, but no look was more smashing thenthe Arthur Kadyshes South Beach Body look as the crowd squealed with delightAnd just like that it was over

The party upstairs was kicking it, but it will always be bizarre to me when in between good songs people just stand in place and chat, then return to dancing when a good song comes on again. For the ultimate good time, get the “Bottle Service” it’s $400 for 2 bottles and you can invite 6- 8 friends to split the bill and to really have a nice, comfortable time.

The question I have is why did they hold people at the door until almost 11PM, sure it created an exciting atmosphere, but it was cold for the people waiting in line. I did get in early as Donna had a table, and it wasn’t crowded in the place;
