First Look “2100 Model Residence Unveiling”

I’ve watched them build 2100 Hamilton as it’s only a few blocks from my house. They’ve done a great job, and it turned out so much more beautiful than I anticipated. Fits right into the neighborhood, which I can enjoy with the reflective glass, and bright sunny skies on those days.
Comprised of 27 exclusive residences and situated among the city’s finest museums, 2100 Hamilton offers a luxury lifestyle that is easy, effortless, and exciting close to shops, Fairmount Park and views of the City Skyline.

Last night there was a special unveiling of one of their 3 bedroom models for potential residents to get a sneak peek at what 2100 Hamilton has in store for them.

Did I mention spectacular views of the City Skyline

Philadelphia Art Alliance at University of the Arts Debut

Photo from uArts page

October 7, 2021 was a celebration of the reopening of the Philadelphia Art Alliance at University of the
Arts
, which had largely been closed during the pandemic. It included UArts leadership, its board of
trustees and the many donors who supported the first two phases of improvements to the alliance. The
evening cocktail party was held in the newly renovated first-floor galleries and meeting space, as well
as in the garden.

Founded by artists in 1915 and located in the former Wetherill Mansion on Rittenhouse Square, the Philadelphia Art Alliance is considered one of the first multidisciplinary art spaces in the U.S. Its remarkable legacy includes presenting the work of visionary writers, composers, dancers, musicians, sculptors and architects from Igor Stravinksy to Gertrude Stein to Diego Rivera, among many other luminaries.

In 2018, the celebrated Philadelphia Art Alliance merged with the University of the Arts uniting two century-old institutions as the Philadelphia Art Alliance at the University of the Arts. Its new name: Philadelphia Art Alliance at the University of the Arts.

President David Yager, president and CEO of uArts, and Jud Aaron, Board of Trustees for the University of the Arts greets the supporters, friends and thanks them for their help in renovating the building.

Commonweal Art Gallery Opens In Philly

In the past few months people have been yearning to go out , and we here at Philly Chit Chat have been very busy photographing many of the hot and happening events. Thanks to team photographer Andre Flewellen for capturing the opening of Commonweal Art Gallery earlier this month. Let’s see who made left their leggings at home and came to check out this new art gallery.

The arts scene in Philadelphia continues to grow with the opening of Commonweal which happened October 1st, 2021. The gallery features emerging and mid-career Philadelphia artists and designers from across the city’s creative communities.  The artists for Commonweal’s inaugural program were chosen because their work focuses on social and cultural themes important to our city and its residents while remaining engaged with evolving national and global conversations. The works of featured designers form a capsule collection of objects exclusive to the gallery. The designers have engaged their material expertise to create an array of unique functional objects whose quality and thoughtfulness are intended to enrich their user’s daily experience through their use.

Have an Olive Day With Chef José Andrés

Philadelphia hosted a delectable event on May 15th, “Have an Olive Day,” featuring the prestigious Spanish chef José Andrés,

as the campaign’s brand ambassador.

Chef Andrés has been twice named by TIME Magazine as one of its 100 Most Influential people.  In its final year, this initiative is promoted by Olives from Spain, with the financial support of the European Union.

95 percent of the pimento-stuffed olives consumed in the United States come from Spain

As part of the Olives From Spain “Have an Olive Day” campaign, Andrés last week turned the The Versailles Residences roof deck and private resident space, at 16th and Locust Street in Center City into a delicious olive field with dozens of varieties, including Hojiblanca, Queen and Manzanilla, as part of his ambassadorship introducing Spanish olives to the United States.

“Have an Olive Day” campaign invited guests and journalists to know more about their varieties, versatility and benefits. The promotional program developed by the European Union and the Spanish olives sector, is the leading producer and exporter of table olives in America.

Syrmarie Villalobos, Telemundo 62 and chef José Andrés

Spain is the world leader in production and export of table olives, representing 21 percent of world production and 30 percent of world exports. The United States imports more than 155 million pounds of European olives every year.

Chef Martinez helped guests taste and discover olives, a basic ingredient in the Mediterranean diet.

Popular at the party was the Olives from Spain Philly cheese-steak

For recipe inspiration and more information on the rich history of olives, please visit www.haveanoliveday.eu or follow the campaign on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest at @haveanoliveday – Thanks to Andre Flewellen for photographing this for HughE Dillon LLC/PhillyChitChat.

According to Hospitality Design Magazine: Maidenberg ‘s favorite architect is Frank Gehry because he “I’ve followed him since the ’80s. He has changed the way of creating. There is great documentary by Sydney Pollack called Sketches of Frank Gehry. A genius films another genius. You can see Gehry creating a building with pieces of carton and scissors like a very clever and sensitive kid would do. Then, the process gets more complicated.” (source)
