Over this past week, Parx executives and team members donated hundreds of hours to personally make and prepare the meals through Caring for Friends. Those very same meals will then be given away tomorrow to seniors in need – along with a week’s worth of meals and soups.
Parx Casino team members gave away thousands of meals for Thanksgiving and the holidays at Bristol Township Senior Center. Seniors from Bucks County have signed up for pick-up slots so there was a steady flow of cars picking up the donated meals.
Parx Casino supports Caring for Friends in their fight against hunger and serving those in need in Bucks County. This relationship features two parts: donations to support Caring for Friends mission, AND beyond a check Parx Casino team members have donated hundreds of hours to give away meals through this ongoing partnership.

After a hiatus caused by the pandemic, Party with a Purpose, a cause-driven gala in Philadelphia that supports cancer research, is back, again, at The Union League in Center City. The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) was selected as the beneficiary, and funds raised at this year’s event will be dedicated to lung cancer research. The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) hosted its annual gala, Party with a Purpose at The Union League in Center City. Party with a Purpose is Philadelphia’s elite cause-driven gala to support lifesaving cancer research at the AACR.
At the gala, to be held on Oct. 30, Party with a Purpose will bestow both philanthropic and scientific awards. Dorothy Giordano and the Hon. Frank Giordano will receive the Humanitarian Award in recognition of their philanthropic contributions.
Also honored was Corey J. Langer, MD, director of thoracic oncology at the Abramson Cancer Center and professor of medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine, will receive the 2022 Scientific Achievement Award. He has chosen Melina Elpi Marmarelis, MD, MSCE, assistant professor of medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and medical director of the Penn Mesothelioma and Pleural Disease Program, to receive the 2022 Friends of the AACR Foundation Early Career Investigator Award.

There was also a live auction where Tickets to the Philly Pops were sold for $600, dinner for 8 at Rittenhouse Grill with wine went for $2400 a pair of best in the house Springsteen tickets sold for $5400, Then Live Nation donated a 2nd pair which went for the same amount.

PHILADELPHIA — Nov. 9, 2022 — Rivers Casino Philadelphia is honoring vets and current military service members on Veterans Day with its new “Rivers Salutes” program — an initiative that celebrates guests for their duty and sacrifice. Additionally, the casino will honor Team Members for their military service.
Starting Friday, Nov. 11, and running through Wednesday, Nov. 30, guests who are veterans, military reserve, national guard and first responders can receive exclusive food, drink and gaming offerings. Last week, Thursday, November 3, marked the official groundbreaking of a new mixed-use residential tower called 200 Spring Garden, formerly the home of a one story City Fitness. The new structure will be 13-stories high with 360 apartment units offering extensive amenities, and 10,000 square feet of outdoor public green space. A joint venture between National Real Estate Advisors, National Real Estate Development, and Kushner Real Estate Group.
Designed by Handel Architects and developed by National Real Estate Development and the KRE Group, the new building will rise 177 feet to the top of the bulkhead (or 149 feet to the main roof) and offer nearly 298,668 square feet of residential space, 18,187 square feet of retail, an expansive roof deck, parking 106 cars and 116 bicycles, and a landscaped public promenade along the property’s west side. The building is a modern interpretation of the warehouse-style buildings native to Northern Liberties, the robust structure of articulated charcoal grey brick will anchor and define the intersection of Spring Garden and North 2nd Street.

“This project is the first phase in what will be a new neighborhood from Spring Garden Street, all the way down to Callowhill Street along 2nd,” said Daniel Killinger, President of Real Estate Development, one of the many partners of this project. He added after the project is completed, it will create “an entirely new neighborhood that will combine the energy and vitality of Northern Liberties with the history and culture of Old City into something that is truly Philadelphia.” National and KRE have purchased four parcels between Callowhill Street and Spring Garden Streets with plans to create a unique neighborhood inspired by the surrounding historic Old City and Northern Liberties neighborhoods. The site will be a mixed-use, pedestrian-centric development with two anchoring residential towers and street-level retail that will cater to a diverse community that values walkability and convenience. The building will also include 5,400 square feet of corner marquee retail, and a pedestrian-friendly, landscaped public plaza featuring original artwork curated by Mural Arts Philadelphia.

Over 200 guests paraded from University of the Arts’ Hamilton Hall to the Suzanne Roberts Theatre led by the West Philadelphia Orchestra before the first performance of the World Premiere Musical The Tattooed Lady at 8PM. Welcome Back, oh wait that’s me. I’m so busy, and then the Phillies were in the series oh my gosh I was so caught up in Phillies fever. I did make it to a game last week, and posted about in on my socials. I was so fun. Here’s a link. I really focused on the fans, they’re so exuberant and I loved it. Thanks to the Phillies for a fantastic season, none of us expected. I was at Live Casino the other night for an event I took this around midnight, after the game. People were cheering, and thanking the Phils for a great season, as I am sure you were as well.
