M Night’s Servant Films, She Wore A Red Wedding Dress, Spotted NeNe Leakes & Sheryl Lee Ralph

Congratulations are in order for Walt Moura and Dana Spain who were married at their home Saturday night, in Society Hill. The bride wore red, and she looked stunning. Friendship turned to love, and now marriage. (provided)

Real Housewife of Atlanta, Nene Leakes was in town Saturday night to host a show at The Met for Punch Line Philly Ladies Night Out Comedy Tour! with special guests Loni Love, Adele Givens, Sherri Shepherd, Kym Whitley & B Simone. She was spotted checking in at the Four Season’s Saturday afternoon, that job must pay well as Saturday night at the Four Season will set you back a few thousand, but the views are worth a million bucks.

Then she headed to The Met for hair and Make-up by local and international Make Up Artist Jacen Bowman, who also does Fox 29’s Alex Holley’s beautiful face.

Thursday director M Night Shyamalan along with actors Lauren Ambrose and Rupert Grint filmed a scene for the 2nd season of Servant in near Rittenhouse Square at 21st and Spruce. At the end of the day they surprised actress Lauren Ambrose with a cake for her birthday and sang Happy Birthday. If that wasn’t sweet enough, the next day, Friday M Night shot scenes in the Bellevue Hotel’s lobby as well as inside Teuscher Chocolates.

Saturday I headed to Kevin Parker and Kerry Scott’s Philly Fashion Week, which has been going on all last week at 801 Market Street. Saturday’s theme was Lov’n My Curves and kicking off the show was legendary, iconic Sheryl Lee Ralph. You know I had to go out and support Sen. Vincent Hughes‘ wife on the Philly launch of her new clothing line “DIVA” Divinely Inspired Victoriously Aware which is also the name of her DIVA foundation where she raises funds for HIV/AIDS as well as other chronical illnesses; the show did not disappoint. The shirts were available yesterday at the show, and will be available on the DIVA foundation shortly. Today: Dim Sum House‘s Grand Opening in Rittenhouse With Free Food. Jane Guo (above) and Jackson Fu announce the grand opening of Dim Sum House by Jane G’s TODAY February 20, 2020, at 1930 Chestnut Street, at 11:30am. The mother-son duo will bring all-day, every-day dim sum in two styles to Rittenhouse Square. On top of Shanghai and Cantonese dim sum, Dim Sum House in Rittenhouse will also feature dishes from the Jiang Nan region of China including noodles, entrees, fried rice and soups.

For its grand opening, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, dine-in guests will celebrate with a complimentary order of Scallion Pancakes per table. From 5:00pm to 7:00pm, dine-in guests will enjoy a complimentary order of Dan Dan Noodles per table.

Dim Sum House will test a brand-new ordering system at the dining room tables. With each seating, guests will be able to place their orders for dim sum favorites on a checklist they can hand off and update with their server as their experience progresses. This is especially useful for large groups. Look for this system to debut in University City later this winter.

Dim Sum House in Rittenhouse will launch seven day a week happy hour later this winter. For lunch specials, guests can enjoy a $13 lunch featuring a choice of soup (Hot & Sour or Wonton) with a choice of one of 20 entrees, and a side of rice (White, Brown, and Fried).
Opening services for Dim Sum House in Rittenhouse include lunch, dinner, and bar service. Opening hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 11:30am to 10:00pm, Fridays from 11:30am to 11:00pm, Saturdays from 11:00am to 11:00pm, and Sundays from 11:00am to 10:00pm. Lunch hours run 11:30am to 3:00pm weekdays, and 11:00am to 3:00pm on weekends. The kitchen closes at 9:45pm on weekdays and 10:45pm on weekends. Delivery service and catering currently exist in University City. They will launch in the new Rittenhouse location in March, 2020. Dim Sum House in Rittenhouse is fully handicap accessible.

Emily and Matt enjoyed a romantic dinner at Parc last night, and just a few tables away was Kate Winslet, her hubby Ed and their two kids enjoying Valentine’s Day at Parc restaurant.

After the first tip came in I started doing a search to see if I could find more info, and or photos. I found the above and I LOL, and shared it with my readers. This is a national site and I love how they featured our Parc on it.

Creeping to see if I see Kate Winslet and family in the background of these photos. What did they eat I wonder, they’re all vegetarians, and Ed Smith, her husband is a Vegan.

Years ago their was a poster of Philly doors. I never tire of seeing them.

While dining at McGillin’s yesterday a newly married couple came in to have their photos taken with the owners, seems they met there. They declined to be interviewed, but they were smitten and very happy. Check out a fun article at the Inky about the match making skills at the famed ale house.

We stayed in and enjoyed our traditional seafood dinner and chocolate covered pretzels. (I didn’t partake as I had dined earlier with a BFF), watched movies and was asleep by 11pm. Ahhh bliss after 25 years!! Hope you all had a fantastic VDay, and continue with a great weekend.

PhillyGossip: Bendall Has A Date; Kate Winslet Gives Good Face, V-Day Fun

Hey there Thursday, only one more day until frigid cold Friday and St. Valentine’s Day.

I’ll be heading to advertiser, and deliciousness Pinefish at 12th and Pine for my Vday dinner. It’s been too long since I went last but I’ve been jonesing for it.

Last night I was at Slice Pizza in South Philly learning how to create the perfect heart shaped pie. This one is not mine, mine didn’t perform well as it seems that I put too much cheese on it and it didn’t bake right. I’ll keep my day job. Marlo Dilks, co-owner of Slice with husband Jason, tells me you can order ahead, or call up tomorrow and they will deliver you or your loved one a heart shaped pizza. Yesterday on Twitter I asked what do they do with the dough not used in the heart shaped pizza? Marlo tells me they make garlic knots. Now that sounds delicious too!

Speaking of date night, last night Sixers Ben Simmons and girlfriend Kendall Jenner were spotted at Wm. Mulherin’s Sons 1355 N Front St. around 8PM last night. They were spotted by many, bothered by none, but someone was kind enough to send this photo to me and I appreciate it. I hear they enjoyed Francobolli Black Truffle, a Double Margherita Pizza, Ravioloa and a bottle of GL Riscossa Barbera.

Kate Winslet stopped by Vanity Salon on Walnut Street earlier this week to get her face made up pretty by Marlene. While I was away she and her husband dined at Vedge with a few friends. This week Mare of Easton is filming in Aston, Pa.

Love, life’s sweetest reward. The theme of the Love Boat always plays in my head when I pass through Love Park. I always stop and shoot the iconic art work, as well as capture happy folks posing with the Robert Indiana sculpture. (I love Love Park’s new branding logo. This was clever.)

Recently the beloved park added a visitors gift shop on site for the purchase of LOVE keepsakes. here you will find the much in demand LOVE Park granite keepsakes (center pix I took back in December) on sale at the LOVE Park Gift Shop!


The beautiful keepsakes were cut from the original LOVE Park granite and are available for purchase at LOVE Park in the Gift Shop, housed in the bright red restored shipping container located near the 16th & Arch side of the park. These keepsakes make a great gift for Valentine’s Day, or for anyone trying to share a little love with a fan of Philly’s favorite park. We also have t-shirts, mugs, hats, onesies, magnets, and other LOVE Park items for sale there as well! The Gift Shop will be open 6am-5pm on Valentine’s Day, and 11am-5pm the day before, on 2/13. It’s open on a weather-dependent basis, really if the temperature is above 50 degrees, from 11-5 daily, and regular hours will likely be 11-7pm 7 days a week starting April 1 and please feel free to message us on Instagram @loveparkphilly for any questions you may have!

On Friday at Love Park: Power 99 FM, Philadelphia’s Hip Hop and R&B, will celebrate Valentine’s Day in style by hosting a “Rise & Get Married with Rise & Grind” wedding ceremony. Power 99’s “Rise & Grind Morning Show” will marry three couples at Philadelphia’s iconic LOVE sculpture on February 14, following a live station broadcast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and will be sponsored by Philadelphia’s Department of Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy.

The morning show hosts, Mikey Dredd, Mutha Knows and Roxy Romeo will each be ordained as ministers to officiate the ceremony and select the three lucky couples. (More Info on event here)

One more thing. This I Heart Philly exhibit was supposed to be temporary but it was so popular that Love Park has made it permanent. It’s not in place right now as they sent it out to be fortified and beautified. It wasn’t built to be permanent, as I mentioned, so it wasn’t made of the material that could sustain thousands of people touching it, hugging it and standing on it. Ryan and Krystal Howard list luxury condo For Sale

Ryan Howard has been in the news recently as he’s returning to the Phillies during Spring Training to serve as guest instructor. Too bad he sold his palatial waterfront estate in nearby Tampa last year. You know the one, with the moat surrounding the house. I remember a decade ago when we were all chiding him about it online.

The All-Star first baseman’s castle, er home featured 19,000 square feet of interior living space, eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, four additional powder rooms, panic room, secure art room, a man cave and a Napa Valley-inspired wine room.

There was also a bowling alley, chef’s kitchen, fitness center, sauna, game room with bar, custom home theater, library, and an eight-car garage. Basically a dream home to get lost in. (They sold the house for an area record $16.5 million)

I’m not sure how much time Ryan and Krystal spent down there because shortly after his retirement in 2016, the 40-year-old began a partnership with SeventySix Capital, a sports tech venture capitalist fund headquartered in Conshohocken. The couple also held on to their Center 1706 Condo, where his neighbors would often see his growing family.

Now comes word that The Big Piece has listed his condo at 1706 Rittenhouse for sale for a whopping $6.495 million.

1706 Rittenhouse, boasts 31 full-floor residences. Howard’s unit spans the 24th floor, with four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in 4,166 square feet.

Perhaps they want to head back to Blue Bell, closer to Krystal’s family and where they sold a former home for a record amount of money in 2016. (Philly Voice)

As for getting a record price for his 1706 Condo, there are a few more for sale in Center City which are priced higher than his: 500 Walnut Street for $6.975 million and 1911 Walnut Street for $ 25 million.
